1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

There have been a bunch of BS excuses as to why your not allowed to vape on a plane or at the airport. my favorite is that it looks too much like smoking :rolling laugh:

the one i do understand is that we are not certain of the health effects. it is obviously much better than smoking, but if i was a non smoker i probably would not want someone puffing out big clouds of vapor next to me since there is no evidence of the long term or second hand effects.

the fact that they let you take the devise on the plane but not lighters is a good indication of what the unwritten rules are. if you stealth vape there is generally no problem. but again, i think they are discouraging people's expose to second hand vapor in case future studies finds it harmful......then they would be exposed to lawsuits.

Couldn't agree more. A total knee jerk reaction. But I can accept no long term health research.

Won't stop me stealth vaping though.

I agree totally on this one Don Graham. The us act as a global occupation force by now. BUT on airport's there is a smoking area, and that is where i would vape of course.

I would ask the individual airline, but also I would take empty tanks as the air pressure change inside the cabin at altitude is lower than ground level and may cause leaks from the tank. I would fill once at cruising altitude. personally

i have just separated the battery from the tank and kept it in my carry on. As long as your tank is not bigger than the liquid limit capacity you should be fine.

A few years ago they stopped me when i had a cheap crappy cartridge one from pattaya, i demonstrated what it was for them taking two or three hits. the guy started asking questions out of personal curiosity and then told me to enjoy my flight. i would imagine that most airline staff now know what it is. i read somewhere 6 months ago that the USA laws state its ok to bring on the plane but not to use. i personally stealth vape under a blanket if its a night flight or use the bathroom if its a mid distance. if i am on a ride less than a few hours i normally just vape in the bathroom stall at the airport before and after the flight.

dont ask, just be very discrete and there should be no problems.

Sat on the plane, 20 passengers pop out their mech mods, with 0.5 ohm coils, and start to vape:rolling laugh::rolling laugh:

I have vaped in airports but always in smoking sections.

The change in air pressure can effect your tanks on the plane so it easier to use a Carto set up. I usually take my old JacVapour PCC kit with me with a couple of Cartos and I am set. Stealth vaping under a blanket is not a bad option or you can pop to the loo for a stealthy Vape.
NB Vaping CAN set off some alarms on planes so vape under your shirt to ensure no clouds set off the sensor. There are two general types of smoking sensor. One checks for particles in the air which is safe to Vape around but the other checks light density and a thick cloud of vapour will set them off.
