What's wrong with my build?

First attempt at vertical dual. 2 x 28-9/10 wraps I think. Seems to be outputting about 25% ...

 

To me it looks like the right side has more wraps. Do you have a device to check the OHMs? Assuming these check out.. one simple way is to remove the cotton and dry fire the coils paying close attention to which one is getting brightest the quickest. You will want to gently work the slower one until they both glow the same brightness at about the same time.

A lot of wraps. Make sure the screws are tightened enough, the knurled nut can often loosen if you play around with the coils after tightening, even with pliers.

 

Personally I never brought the wick back over the top of the coil either. It cools down the outside of the coil too much in my opinion on ghat section so reducing production. I used to just leave a sort tail at the top and only have the bottom in the juice well. That build is about 1.2r or so at a guess so you can up the power a touch ifbyou want as well for heating the metal mass.

These are just my personal preferences though don't forget.. you do what works for you. Good luck.

 

What is the reading ? Maybe it's the ramp up.. Seems like a lots of wraps on a 28ga

 

The reading is 1.2 ohms as Longtail surmised. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions all. I'll report back after fiddling.
