Wet Lips

anyone know anyway to prevent the juice from saturating your lips when you take a hit ? Maybe install a small screen at the mouthpiece?

 

I have found that juice coming out of the drip tip has been due to my taking too strong a draw, a drip tip design that's not ideal for the amount of airflow of the atty or the cumulative long period of time of not cleaning the drip tip and where very small amounts of vaporized ejuice accumulates immediately below the drip tip or maybe inside it and makes its way out. I only have this situation maybe a handful of times in a week so not too worrisome a thing for me.

 

From my experiences this is due to several reasons.



The drip tip on the right on the Orchid has the problem much more than the drip tip on the left when also used on the Orchid. Bore diameter I think is the biggest factor followed by the thickness of the drip tip itself.

With the black drip tip, which happens to be my most used, and a dripper this is not an issue at all.

 

I actually don't know what you mean with wet lips!

I never have wet lips, I do occasionally taste some juice when things go wrong with building The Erlkönigin and it floods, but that's all ...it is not on my lips but directly in my mouth.

The KayFuns I never have that problem!

 

are you sure that your o-ring between chimney and top cap is secure? That is the culprit.

 

Might just be me, but... if you're getting juice in your mouth you're doing it wrong

 

I take ambien to go to sleep. Makes me loopy sometimes. I took some, and remembered that I thought it was a good idea to pour juice directly in my mouth to try and drink it. I think I probably got about 3ml before I realized that it was stupid.

 

Lol when I got my first device (eCom) on the second fill I filled it to the top (not overfilled) and sucked hard on it. I finished the whole tank in about 15 pulls. I guess 95% of it was swallowed.

 

When it happens to me it is usually due to the condensation/build up and with some devices more than others like example SD gave of Nautilus. With some narrower drip tips like Rick showed I have probably created too much vacuum sometimes with harder hits and juice accumulates inside or at bottom of drip tip faster. Really it's so infrequent and such small amounts for me because I do maintain drip tips every time I refill my tanks etc.

 

ah, i think i know what happens now....if the tip is too small, the smoke is condensed as it goes through the tip and builds up until there is enough mass to 'condensate'...as soon as it hits the walls of the tip it cools, and starts to form a small river of ejuice. All my tips have flat bottoms also, which i think acts like a damn, then the condensation of juice rolls over the edge.

i was trying to get the strongest airflow possible, but its proving to have this wet lip effect. Looks like you have to make a compromise between velocity and wet lips.

i pulled the tip off and been hitting it without, and the wet lips has drastically reduced to almost nothing.

This 'probably' also explains why i wake up feeling like horseshit every morning since i started vaping, OD'ing on nic by actually ingesting it in liquid form.
