1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

So my dads flying out to visit us this christmas and he'll be bringing some vape gear for me. He's flying with eva air with no halfway stops. My stuff is already bought and paid for but today while I was at the chiang mai b&m, they said that a french guy came by yesterday to pick up an evic vtc because his vape gear got confiscated by customs. Has anyone flown to thailand recently with mods with them ? I've got a pretty sick VCM mech and an authentic kennedy 22 along with some ss wire, some batteries (3 to be exact) and no liquid. It would really suck if they would get confiscated so any input is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

He should put all the vape gear in his checked luggage. If he's bringing any loose batteries, or mods with integral batteries, those will have to go in his carry-on luggage. I'm flying to Singapore tomorrow night for a week. If anything is different at Swampy on my return to LOS, will report back.

I never try bring it oversea.
But for local flight if your stuff already unpacked you should be okay.
Because I did it many times. And I told them I use it personally and I'm not selling them to anyone. (according to unreasonable law and regulation)

I just went through this going to Thailand, and just got back to the states yesterday. The big thing is that batteries need to be on carry on, and should be packed in cases. There's a new TSA rule that batteries can't be placed on checked in baggage, so it's a "must follow" rule. I had batteries not placed in cases and that went through check in fine without any problems. Mods and atties I put in checked baggage. For the last trip I brought 1 liter of juice, bunch of mods, bunch of atties, wire, tools, etc. All put in checked baggage. In an x ray machine it would like bomb making equipment. When I got the bags back in LOS TSA left a note inside the luggage that they had gone through it. Didn't see anything missing except for my allen wrenches and I don't know if they took it, I mispacked it or what. But long story short, TSA will go through it but not necessarily seize or do anything to it.

My stopover was in Taipei and went through customs there, and also when I got to swampy. No one stopped me or asked any questions.

Since the stuff is all tubular, he could store it where the druggies stash their smack. I'd give it a good wash before using it though, and definitely a new drip tip.
