1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

thank God for drippers

So I was inspecting my kayfun lite because of flooding issues (kayfun lite flooding) and i realized that there were no o-rings on it. no wonder it was flooding. i didnt even think about it. i tried to put a few o-rings from my kayfun 3.1 but they were/are not really doing the trick. should they fit? am i just an idiot, or are they slightly different sizes?

then i go to take a hit of my kayfun 3.1 and it was showing a short signal on the vamo. i stripped it down and looked at the coil, no issues i could see. the heck with it, i took out the coil and rebuilt another one. still showing short :chinrub: so i build another coil, this time high ohms and just lift it wayyyyy of the build deck......... still showing a short. i played with the insulator a bit moving it around slightly and checked to see that the deck isnt touching each other. no idea what is happening here.

thank God i have drippers that are hitting like champs with no issues, to bad i dont have any tanks though.

as always, advise, comments, etc are highly appreciated.

Strange one with the short. Do you have it when you don't have a coil installed also?

    Did you melt your insulator?

Maybe check your air flow screw that there isn't some metal swath down in there. Think it's possible to touch the centre post. Also bottom insulator on the 510 screw. That one unlikely tho I think.

On my old K I found that the bigger post block (positive?) became a little loose and would often end up spinning slightly and touching the other (negative?) block. This caused shorting. I had to make sure they were aligned properly every time before I rewicked it

See red circle below for the two bits that touched

the insulator looks a bit torched, the block seems ok. ryan may have nailed this...........again

As I recall, your insulator is completely flat, unlike most of them. If it's moving around freely, and it isn't garbage at this point, you'll have to righted down your positive deck with the center post screw. Hold the deck in place while you tighten to keep it in place, and don't overtighten it or you're screwed.

Well I would first (1) make sure the Vamo is giving accurate results. My vamos are horrible horrible ohm readers. A big problem with this is that the center pin on the Vamo which makes contact with the bottom of the atty is not pushed into the silicone insulators on the vamo. If that pin is pressed in, all your ohm readings will be registering an error as it is not coming into contact with atomizer.

However, I think Ryan is right. You probably need a new insulator for the Kayfun. If you are using the fasttech Kayfuns, their insulators aren't very good. The higher quality clones use derlin. It looks like the FT just uses molded plastic.

btw this is what happened with the FT kayfun. If your positive block looks like this, you need a new insulator cuz the old one melted.

well, i am not having a good week. yesterday i got home and fired up my storm dripper and heard a loud pop. not sure what happened, but it is now showing an error message when i screw it into the vamo. i removed and the coil and put in a new one but no love. before the vamo is blamed, my two other drippers are showing accurate readings. this has not been my week........:not good: to :depressed: to
