So many Subohm Tanks but I'm looking for a great... MTL single coil tank. The best MTL tank I own is the Ehpro KFL2. For those wanting to rebuild their own, want an easy to build single coil base and the best flavor available. Is the Kayfun still the tank to beat in all these regards? Sorry but I've been out of the game a while.

Eden mods Rose is popular. The (I think) hot cig mini version is available on FT with similar capacity and looks much nicer than the full size IMO.

Kayfun V4 is another good choice. First time working with it can be involving as there are more parts than most all other mods (you normally dont directly deal with more than a few unless you strip down for cleaning) but the actual coil build and wicking is easy. All you need to do is learn the method and direction to open and close the juice flow (close juice flow for easy top fill) and the way to unscrew the base. Once you do it a couple times you'll remember and it's a breeze.

Just to add that the Tobeco and Infinite clone models are usually very good quality. I have one of each. There could be a couple other good clones but these are the ones most discussed and usually have very good feedback about.

Checking out both the Rose and KF4. I guess I've been spoiled with the nice and compact size of the Kayfun lite and those are both huge. I have a goblin mini on the way which has the plug for single coil use. I'm hoping it with have a decent flavor with the AFC adjusted for MTL. I do know that glass drip tip is going to annoy me and that 510 adaptor doesn't look any better.

What about the Tilemahos, with that new spring kit - no more coiling, just clip in the spring.

I foresee this evolving so that both ends will have an adjustable nut that rather threads over the spring allowing for adjustable ohms on the fly. That Tilamahos is supposed to be a really nice MTL tank.

Maybe you can give the Taifun GT2 a try. After a while it's very easy to built and the flavor is as good or better as with the KF4 imo. Cleaning and wicking in minutes, decent mtl rta.

LOL.... so I scrolled to the top of this thread and realized.... It's mine! :rolling laugh:

So far I have ordered and received a Kayfun V4, a few more KFL bases and a NextGen Genesis Atty.

I love the kayfun v4 for it's improvements. I love the ability to refill so easy, both from the top fill or by removing the tank and chimney and filling through the bottom, the outstanding airflow control, the super easy access to the deck without draining the tank and the ability to shut off the juice flow for absolutely no accidental messes. I did have issues with resistance stability until I ordered a spring update kit from Steam Tuners - Found here - That completely solved the problem by removing the spring from the equation . I also love the fact that I can use so many of my old upgraded Kayfun parts for modifying it as well. The Kayfun is one the the very few that have such an aftermarket available to keep things interesting.

Of course I love my KFLs and they are still putting up a fight to stay on top of my favorite Mod at the moment. Especially with the "Tiny" bell cap. They are a little more work to keep up but something I've been used to now for quite a while. It also nice in that I can use some of the V4 parts on it. I have some extra parts en route now that once modified should allow many more of the parts to swap across platforms.

I had extremely high hopes for the NextGen. My first build went sort of well but I just couldn't seem to keep hotspots away for more than an hour or two. Due to the design, it tends to develop serious shorts through the mesh and are very hard to rid. For the time being, I shelved it. Now working with lower resisitance wire I may pick it up again and try to fiddle this week. I really hope it works out but I'm not getting my hopes up too much. When it's working it is a great vape but so far hasn't been worth the work.

I want to give the rose a shot. That ceramic cup is supposed to really kick things up a notch. The Taifun has always caught my eye yet for some reason Ive never pulled the trigger. Seeing the newest Tilemahos, I think I'll wait for it to become available as that type of coil really should be the standard moving forward. I'm excited to see how things develop this year and believe we are going to see some great improvements.

I just received a Tilemahos clone from FT yesterday.
    Tilemahos V2 Styled RTA

Probably the most compact 4ml RTA out there.
A size comparison with the KF4 (my favorite tank so far):
    TILEvsKF4.jpg

I wanted to get an authentic one when I was in Germany back in July but there was no stock at this time. This has changed in the meanwhile… Also another model went out:
The Tilemahos V2plus (“Flavor Chaser Edition”)
And the brand new rebuildable part (“Springomizer”) with fits into all Tilemahos Versions.

Anywhere, by now I only got this Tilemahos V2 clone and it’s already pretty good.
Compact, easy to build MTL tank. Air and liquid flow control, removable top cap for easy refilling – really nice!
Made my first build this morning and went through a whole 4ml tank by now. Enjoying it :)

Alright Phaitoon.... took your word for it and put one on order. The V2 has been in and out of my cart almost daily since the day it hit New Arrivals so I've been needing a push.

That Tilemahos seems quite nice. How does it vape compared to the kayfun v4? Is it as easy to refill? How about leaking?
My requirement for a good atty is : good vape for mouth to lung, quick refill and no leaks. The kayfun v4 is great for all that. It the Tilemahos is as good but with a smaller size then it will be in my next fasttech order for sure. Only downside I see is the plastic tank, in my experience they don't last long.

Yes, that plastic tank is a deal breaker for me too. :police:

I still have an Orchid v.2 [I think it's v.2, got it from Rick] and that is tiny, possibly smaller than the one in the above picture, and it has a Plastic/Polycarb type tank--still going strong--unlike 2 taifuns both of which had plastic tanks that have had to be replaced--I reckon it depends on the type of plastic.

I've never had issues with any of the Kayfun PC tanks cracking. Now that I have bought a few acrylic tanks I've started running into problems. both of my Acrylic Tiny tanks and one Acrylic Bell Cap have cracked over the last 3 weeks. I'm going to stay away from Acrylic and stick with PC from here on out. Luckily the Tilemahos has a PC tank and FT just brought on a line of PC Tiny Kayfun caps as well to keep me satisfied. :D

    How does the Tilemahos vape?
Vaping side by side with the KV4 – same liquid, same temp and watt settings – I felt that the KV gave a little more vapor and a somewhat better flavor.
But the coil in the KV had more surface – 6 wraps, 3mm, 0.46Ω vs 5 wraps, 2.5mm, 0.31Ω (26g titanium).
So I rebuild the Tile with 8 wraps, 2.5mm at 0.5Ω and increased the temperature a little. After that they were pretty much on par. Wicking, LFC setting and the coil position can also make a difference. I found my way with the KV already; with the Tile I just need a little more practice.

    Refilling
Easy enough. Remove the drip tip and top cap and refill with a squeeze bottle or dripper.
The space between chimney and tank is more limited as with the KF4 though.

    Leaking
It leaked only once on me when I played too much with the LFC.
Properly wicked, it shouldn’t leak at all.

    The plastic tank
Yes, that’s a point. There are eliquids who could probably crack it. I’m avoiding those liquids anywhere.
At least it’s a thicker tank then the one that comes with the KF4.
There’s also a SS Tank included but I like to see my juice level.
Hopefully FT will offer replacement tanks soon as they do for the KF4 (a pack of 5 for $5).

BTW the tank has also quite a few parts:
