SMPL Mechanical Mod by Epic Design Studios

Ordered this last night before I went to bed (copper & brass version), upon waking up this morning I cancelled it as TBH I don't really need anymore mechs, I have enough and also a Pegasus on it's way.

I like to hybrid wherever possible and thought I would pass this on

Often I get stuff and use it because it's new but know it won't be used much long term.
It's not so often I get stuff and know instantly that I'll be using it a lot.

Well, today, after taking it's sweet time, I received the SMPL and knew as soon as I put a battery in it I will be using it a lot.

If I was to ask exactly which smpl you ordered from all the FT options, exactly which atty and exactly which drip tip I'm sure you wouldn't suspect I might be ordering the same setup

 

Haha, the drip tip came with my other Hobo, tbh it's too big for me but it's more photogenic.
This SMPL I think it's the only copper one that is genuinely a one piece tube, the others have press fit top caps. (I haven't actually checked, I had an atty on it within seconds).

This Hobo I wouldn't usually go for a copper atty but the screw on deck walls of the Hobo prevent any major contact with juice. I'm not sure about the health hazards, I'm more concerned about cleaning it

Here it is next to the 4nine. The switch is excellent, far superior to the magnetic switch in my 4nine, is my early impression although it would be nice if it was easier to dismantle



The tube is nice, thick and weighty. I have the SS version at LAK SI

A couple of drawbacks though.

If you use an atty with a longer 510 (Magma) the switch will poke out but I don't think it will fire under it's own weight. Also it's hybrid so not all atty's will work.
