The week of firmware updates has its next entry. Max wattage has been increased from 160 to 180 and these changes, quoting Smok:

    1. Adjusted max wattage to 180W,bring you ultimate vaping experience.

    2. Improved function on alerting the initial resistance is too high or too low.

    3. Revised the issue that the temperature unit is out of sync between device and the APP.

What's the crack with the SMOK updates; are some free and some you need to pay for?

You only need to pay for the Ti and SS wire support. Do that one time and that's it. However, if you do the free firmware updates then you need to use the app to reinstall that support and it doesn't require repurchasing. Sometimes there's a distressed person in a forum claiming the firmware updates had them lose their purchased SS and Ti wire upgrades when in reality they aren't aware its just a simple matter of going onto the app and reinstalling/reactivating them.

Thanks for the info @Scratchy . Just to be clear, this does not solve the power accuracy issue we talked about before, correct ?

Good question and I'd be interested to know as well. If you recall, the accuracy issues were on the upper-end and above what you aid you would be targeting. In that range you were were most interested, this mod is about as accurate as anything out there and more accurate than some popular mods that are assumed to be!
