So how hard do you think it would be to put the real DNA 30 chip into your Hana Moz clone?
Evolv sells the chips for $50.
It' just a few wires isn't it?

I wouldn't be able to do it, but maybe a good Thai mobile phone technician could..

Trivially simple, since the chipset is made for DIY. The only problem I would see is the 510 connection from the clone is rumored to be pretty shitty, I don't know where you would source a quality replacement.

How about if I didn't want to replace it, would that be ok?
Could you replace the DNA chip mate?

Yeah, its like a 5 minute job. Personally, I wouldn't order a DNA30 chip though, I've heard like 50% have problems, bad screens and that sort of thing. Then you have to send it back to them, we'd get killed on shipping. Not to mention customs.

Yeah, but the problems seem to be from the factory, DOA chips. The mods are tested before they are sent out, so they are the ones who have to deal with the failures, not me.

Yes its only about 10 solder joints or 12 if the 510 is soldered.

Man that's a bad dud rate Ryan. I would have expected only a few % to not be good.

Yeah, I'd do it for you.

It isn't the solder connections that make it a dud, I think its the OLEDs and their ribbon cables. It isn't an installation issue, its a manufacture issue. Read around, it sounds pretty bad.

I wonder if the fitted USB charging board on the clones would still work with the real DNA 30 chip installed?

I think it would work, but the Evolv one has a charging light, and I think its only like $5. If you're changing the board out, I'd do the same with the charger as well.
