1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

I will be vacationing in Pattaya this month and I'd like to know if there are any vape shops in Pattaya. I'd like to pick up some decent 18650 batteries and some e-liquid, maybe even a simple box mod and tank to use on holiday. Thanks.

Basically, due to the new laws last year, there are no vape shops left in Thailand. Check the vendors on here and the BKK ones will be happy to EMS a purchase to you at your address while on holiday, I am sure. They send via EMS and to Pattaya it would normally take 1-2 days to get to you.

    Thanks for your reply.

So they've outlawed the sale of vaping paraphernalia? Would I run into problems at the airport bringing e-liquid or a tank and mod?

No, you shouldn't have any problems arriving here.

I guess the government wants people to stay on those God-awful "SMS" cigarettes...

I need a 18650 battery for my box mod. Anywhere I could pick one up in Pattaya?

The import/sale of vape gear & juice has been banned here since the end of 2014.

No idea...best bet is to order one from Micky, Big or Tienga and have it delivered to your hotel. You may be able to find an 18650 battery in Pattaya but it will most likely be a flashlight battery (low amp rating & high internal resistance) and not suitable for vaping.

They can and will confiscate your vaping gear if you bring it with you to Thailand.. (IF they open your bag)

To date, we have had no reports of this happening...and we have several members who travel frequently. One member was selected for secondary screening upon his return from the US...they examined the vape gear in his carry-on luggage but allowed him to enter with it...there was no fine and nothing was seized.

Do you have first hand knowledge of someone to whom this has happened recently?

And have no idea of it have happened recently..

I wouldn't kept it in the hand luggage.. Im going on a visa run in about a week.. To Laos.. Im not risking taking any of my
Gear with me.. Or is it legal to import vapegear now?

Before the ban came into place they were talking that gear for personal use and a maximum of 500 ml of e-juice can be brought into the country.

I am sure that they don't want to scare off tourists by taking personal vaping equipment, they just don't want that things are imported to sell here in Thailand.

Was this at Swampy or somewhere else? What did they take? At that time (early 2014), importing vape gear hadn't been banned yet so I'm surprised to hear about this.

From all accounts, they allow in personal vape gear at present...probably not strictly 'legal' per se but allowed.

I've never heard of anyone having personal vape gear taken from them at customs. If it is out of it's packaging and clearly in use the argumant of legal to use personal gear is valid. No I am not being naive but i do know one guy who had an inspection of his vape gear and was cleared through as it was obviously not new equipment and being used by him. Also I am not saying confiscation it couldn't happen but with the way things are I think it unlikely.

So I will be safe on my visa run to Savannakhet if I bring with me 2 mods and 2 tanks and some juice?

Did they tell you why they were taking it?

Should be ok...if it's only a day trip, I'd be inclined to take 1 mod, a spare battery and a couple of full tanks. In this case, less is better IMO.
