1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

    Hi to all,
Here my first post, I am a ex smoker for about 20 years now considering to try out vaping. I know very little about vaping but I consider vaping because of the possible beneficial properties of nicotine. If I should believe what is published and written on the web nicotine should be a lot less addictive without the mixture of chemicals it has in tobacco.
Quitting smoking about 20 years ago was no problem at that time, I also used to drink every day but stopped doing that without a problem a few years ago.
Does anyone tried vaping without smoking before or being a longtime non smoker?
Does anyone have some good links that explain the tech stuff about vaping equipment and what type/brand is recommended?

    :welcome:

I only know one member that stopped smoking before he started vaping. As far as I can remember is that he stopped less than a year and started with vaping because he gained some kilos and he still had the urge to have something in his hand to feel relaxed.

I actually don't know any non-smokers that started with vaping.

This is just my opinion and as an adult you are free to make your own decisions. Nicotine is addictive. That is a fact. The other chemicals in traditional cigarettes are definitely more dangerous than what you would vape but nicotine is addictive in any format. Some people take up vaping as a hobby and I personally have no problem with that as long you are an adult. There are many vapers that have never smoked a traditional cigarette. You do not have to add nicotine to your e-liquid and it is available from e-liquid companies with zero nicotine. There are many choices for equipment and browsing this forum or the internet in general will give you an idea of what is out there. Since you are not coming off of traditional cigarettes, your initial choice maybe much different than someone who is smoking traditional cigarettes due to the fact that in most cases it is easier for them to transition to vaping with a setup that emulates smoking in a better manner. You also need to realize before making any purchases that the import of vaping gear and e-liquid is banned in Thailand. If you purchase something from outside the country, there is a good chance that it may get confiscated by customs. If you have specific questions after searching the forum, there are many knowledgeable people here to help you out.

Nicotine slows down the progress of alzheimer and parkinson disease.

I think nicotine from vaping is much less addictive than from smoking.
