Are there any pocket safe mechanical switches that fit the nemesis? Maybe something like the 4nine switch.

Im getting tired of spinning the ring lock.

Reduce the throw, if that's not possible improve technique lol. Mine locks / unlocks all the way down / up with a single spin.

I think you'll find the only switch that fits the nemesis is the nemesis switch. Others may have similar threads but I imagine the nemesis lock ring threads would prevent them from being a feasible alternative.

Well, any switch that would fit the nemesis would be a nemesis or nemesis style switch (like the Stingray), which would also use a nemesis style locking ring. (And I have 4 nemmies.) Suggestion would be to shorten the throw so you don't have to turn that much (but you would still need to remember to turn it to prevent accidental firing, or get a 4nine mod off of Fasttech. $11 for SS $11.07 4Nine Style Mechanical Mod - 18350/18500/18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping , $14 for brass (I would pay the extra $3) $14.63 4Nine Style Mechanical Mod - 18350/18500/18650 at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I thought about the 4nine style mods, but dont they require button top batteries? I dont want to use a magnet to extend the contact.

Throw is already at its shortest point.

I use an Efest Purple 18500 flat top with my 4Nine sometimes, I do however use a hybrid connector. Throw is short.
I don't know about an 18650, never tried.

I get one 4nine in the post today so I will check and report if no one else got the answer.

I'll let Jon answer the button top question (and be the guinea pig). I've never heard about having to use button tops before, though. From looking at the pics, and from my understanding of how mods work, it looks like that that bottom pin is adjustable, so you wouldn't need to use a button top. And the magnets--give them a chance, they're much nicer than a spring. I swapped out all the springs on my mods with magnets. Also, the problem in particular with the nemesis is that the entire bottom part of the button moves. So if you put it in your pocket (which I have done) the atty fires. (Contact with anything and that switch will cause firing.) You could try the Pinoy style mods. Only the center part of the button presses in, so if you accidentally put it in your pocket it won't automatically fire. (YOu should still use the lock ring.

    I just tried my 4Nine in 18650 with a VTC5 and an Orchid V2.
With the supplied hybrid cap the throw is too long for my liking. A button top would possibly be better suited but I don't have one in 18650. The bottom magnet is adjustable by maybe 1mm. With a Stingray X hybrid connector the throw is so short that the button can stick when pressed. I wouldn't want that in my pocket.

TBH I have never wanted the 4Nine in my pocket, I like to know that my device is 100% not going to fire, but hey, that's just me.

I don't really understand how 1 flick of a locking ring which takes less than half a second is such a problem.

To answer the question, using it with a Sony 18650 now.

There is a reason Tarsius Recommend button tops. You can use flat tops but the switch throw is longer and crunchier and there is excessive battery rattle with 18650. That is from my experience.
