    Hi,

    I'ld like to know if the ceramic fiber in the coil is dangerous or not at the end? Do we have a real study or a final answer on it? It's not bad to advise nautilus mini as a starting clearo?

    Aspire just released a statement regarding the new BVC Coil and it's saftey : electronic_cigarette
    Are Nautilus BVC coils dangerous? : electronic_cigarette
    concerns with Nautilus BVC safety : electronic_cigarette

    Can we hope they will move to fully cotton bvc coils?
    Anymore news on Aspire changing to cotton wicks on there BVC colils?

    What do you advise to buy next if I want a fully cotton coil? (safety before taste)

    Thanks guys

    For a clearo, Kanger Subtank series (Organic cotton) would be my recommendation for anyone with Aspire BVC concerns (prior to any updated all cotton version). Kanger has two types of replaceable coils...one is a 1.2 ohm and the other .5 ohm. The latter produces more vapor (potentially obnoxious amounts depending on where you vape) and uses battery and juice at a faster pace than the former.

    Good thread. The ones on Reddit are 6mo's old so they've had plenty of time to change to organic cotton or plain cotton. But, have they? I'd like to know as well.

    Good question. The answer would be easy if the world was black and white, but it isn't, it's grey in many shades. The Kangertech Subohn Nano tank would be a good replacement for the Aspire Nautilus for a Newbie as well, if the newbie throw the 0.5 Ohm Coil in the bin. Why ? because we now have a Battery safety problem at our hand. Without the right somewhat expensive 20A or higher battery, we have the risk of the battery not being able to produce the amps needed for vaping, and that can be really dangerous as well. On the other hand coils of the nano tank are made of organic cotton, and should be as safe as you can get it by now. The Nano tank with the 1.2 Ohm coil, seem to be a good tank for the newbie as well, if he stick to the 1.2 Ohm coil, and first use the 0.5 Ohm coil, when he knows exactly what he is doing.

    There's every indication that they're changing the Atlantis coils to cotton on the fly...no overt difference between the old ones and the new ones so it's almost impossible to tell them apart. As for the Naut BVC coils and the non-Naut BVC coils, I don't think they're changing these. I use the Naut BVC coils and don't really have any concerns...but that's me. Each person has to do the research and decide what works for them.

    I think you are correct, my mistake. I did send an email to aspire to confirm it... Waiting for the answer

    I do agree, the nautilus with the aspire premium kit was really easy for me to enter the vaping world ;-)
    If someone told me I had to change the 0.5 coil by 1.2, I'll probably never start vaping

    I just ordered an iStick 30W for my 30 days no cig anniversary but still not sure if I'm ready to jump to 0.5 Ohm coils.

    Is this nano tank coil rebuildable or to hard for a future first step in the rebuildable safe world ?

    In 0.5, what's about the eleaf Melo 100% cotton, any feedback ?

    Thanks

    Since the iStick 30 W has a build in battery and it's specification says that it goes from 0.4 Ohms, it should be safe to vape a 0.5 ohm coil on it at any time. I think that Eleaf would not bring this on the marhed, if it would not be safe.

    No the Nano tank has no rebuildable RBA section, but the mini has one. If you can rebuild the coil, I guess you could, I have heard from a few who do it.

    Sorry back in the thread:

    My iStick 30w is not arrived yet, do you think it's ok to use my aspire cf vv+ 1000mah in the Subohn Mini if I stick to 1.2.

    At 4.2V, it should be 14.7W (minimum recommended) but does my battery is able to provide 3.5amp in discharge (3.5C) ??

    By the way, it's just for until my iStick arrives

    I am sorry, but i can't find the specifications for the Battery. So I have to compare it with a Spinner or the like, and my guess is that if he fires with 4.2 volt, everything will be just fine, since the Aspire battery has safety build in. But maybe some other who know this battery can correct me.

    I couldn't find a definitive answer on the amp limit for that battery but the prevailing wisdom was that most twists are limited to 2-2.5 amps...YMMV

    So If I jump to 4.8v and max 2.5amp, it will be 12W max. It's that enough to vape (some nicotine) in case of I need to use this mod for a couple of days ??

    Probably not...your battery can go to 4.8V but you'll be limited by the 2.5A. Add a a resistance of 1.2 ohm to this and you'll be getting only 7.5W, which isn't enough to do much with that tank, I'd bet...there's no way around Ohm's law in this case. What you could do is use the RBA deck, wrap a higher resistance coil and see how that works out.

    Sorry I've to refresh my Ohm's law.
    V=RI = 1.2 * 2.5 = 3V
    P = VI = 3 * 2.5 = 7.5W ..... My mistake

    Thanks for your help, not sure ready to start RBA so I think I'll wait, cry and pray for my iStick (still not arrived in Netherlands after 9 days)
