    Hi guys,

    I've just bought the Kayfun light from Micky and following the indication on internet on how to build a micro coil.

    10/12 raps of kantal 0.20 i should get a 1.3 ohms coil. But i always get 4.3 ohms... Do you know what it can be the issue? Should i make more raps or less?

    Thanks.

    William

    I dont know alot about micro coils, but more wraps = higher ohms as you use more kanthal, is the diameter on you micro coil the same as the ones you looked at on the internet ?, remember that the wraps on a micro coil is close together so that the wraps touch eachother.

    I'm not sure about the size but in all the videos they are making 10/12 wraps... Mine are close together as the one in the video... I will try with less wraps... not sure why i got 4.2 ohms twice...

    ppl. using micro coils on the kayfun seems to use coils with a diameter of 1,5 to 2,0 mm, a quick calc. on your coil give me a diameter of 2,7 mm(calc can be wrong by alot :p):vaping:

    it is the diameter of the coil not the kanthal, what do you wrap the coil on ?, most ppl. use a 1.5mm or 2.0 mm drillbit to wrap the kanthal around.

    ive seen most people use 28 kanthal. 10-12 wraps is a lot, should go for 4-5 wraps and see how that goes.

    28gauge = 10 wraps

    32g = 7wraps or lower.

    Most use 28gauge wires for micro coils. I use a 28gauge with 8 wraps and get 1.6ohms.

    Ok first thing is he uses 28 awg kanthal(0.321 mm) and you use 32 awg kanthal(0.202 mm), he use a 2,00 mm drill bit, we dont know what size you use, but the ohms per meter is alot less on awg 28 than on awg 32, so for awg 32 use less wraps to get to 1.3 ohms.
