Issue with an o-ring on Kanger Aerotank Mini

I have the mini Pro tank 3 and this tank is working wonderfully, but the Aerotank mini I have has either a warped o-ring or I am just tightening it too much somehow.

When I first opened the tank I noticed the o-ring was out of place, but I read that over-tightening may cause problems and I was definitely tightening too much (I had trouble first just taking out the bottom of the tank to fill it, it was very tight). I put the o-ring back into place, filled up the tank a little, vaped a bit, then filled up the tank again, and it was leaking and the o-ring was out of place.

If anyone owns one of these, is it really that easy to over-tighten and knock it out of place, or do you think I just have a warped o-ring and need a new one? If I need a new one I hope there's a vendor here with one, it's pretty ridiculous that my expensive Aerotank doesn't work without leaking the whole tank out at once but my PT3 for 1/3 of the price is working like a champ!
