If you got diagnosed with Cancer, would you still continue to vape?

The cancer is not at all related to smoking or vaping or nicotine. It is a rare unusual cancer that seems just to randomly affect people. If you were diagnosed, would you quit vaping or would you stop completely?

 

There are certain types of cancer that nicotine aggravates (unrelated to smoking) so I suppose I would cut the nicotine out, but I don't see myself ever stopping vaping.

The cancer in question is Thymoma, which is where your thymus cells which produce T lymphocites are supposed to turn into fat after puberty. It is extremely rare, and unlikely to be cause or related to or by smoking or vaping. The tumor is at a stage 1 (early detection). At stage one, the tumor cells look like ordinary cells found in the thymus. If not caught early (in this case was caught very early) the procedure is simply to remove the tumor. If you look up thymoma, no one really knows what causes it. It happens to people who don't smoke, and happens to people who do. It appears that it is not one of these cancers related to smoking and nicotine.

However, I have been under pressure from friends relatives to give up vaping completely. The concern is not medically based so much as it is "stop vaping to avoid cosmic repurcussions since your still vaping after you got diagnosed with cancer). Personally I don't see how vaping relates to it at all, and was wondering if most people--if diagnosed with cancer, would quit vaping even though there is no link between vaping and the cancer.

 

In that situation I would try to do what suits my needs/wants best not what other people thought I should do. Not a big fan of shoulds

Do you also have Myasthenia Gravis? Google's infinite wisdom tells me 50% of people diagnosed with Thymoma have it, and it is an acquired autoimmune response to nicotine receptors. Whether or not that actually has anything to do with nicotine intake, or nicotine is helpful or harmful, I have no idea. What I would probably do, since there are a lot of unknowns here and it is at least partially related to nicotine, is drop down to zero nic for a little while and see how I felt. If I felt worse, back no nicotine. If I felt better, keep off the nicotine. Either way I wouldn't stop vaping.

That said, I am not a doctor, nor do I believe half the shit they say. I would not trust a doctor's recommendation unless I can corroborate their diagnosis. I definitely would ignore everyone else, since you know as well as I do the average person knows jack shit about vaping. Do your own research, read some papers and studies, make your own decision.

basially there are too much docs which proof how (dont wanna say easy) not hard it is to cure cancer, the only important rule at this diagnosis is not to undergo chemo / radiology treatment which is proofen to massively accellerate tumor growth

i am not a doctor as well, but my whole family is stuffed with them, and i see a clear picture that they treat their kids vastly different from what they recommend to all others.

Their own Kids would get Hoemoepathics while a Kid as a patient would get some Antibiotics for the very same dissease.

Most cruical imho, is to stay away from schoolmedicine treatment type like Chemo, Operation, Radiology - by now it is already so much prooven that the death rate of anybody which had any of the 3 treatments within a 5 years time frame is over 95% - they wont tell you that.

However doing the Gerson Therapy is a heck of a lot of work, and its so strict that you might prefer to rather die then to pull this thru.

As for the Myesthenia Gravis, that is what I am more concerned with. The tumor operation is being handled at Stanford University hospital (because I want a good hospital to take care of it), so I am comfortable in their ability. The myesthenia gravis, I'm just gonna have to play by ear and see what happens because it is still early in the game.
