1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

I just wanted to say this.....

I have never been happier vaping. An Istick with an old gold plated trident clone, single coil at 1.2 volts, bored out airhole to 2.5mm, ordinary cotton (boiled) wick - that Japanese organic shite tastes like -well exactly what I said :) and rayon gets a big thumbs down from Farsalinos, self winding USB charging cable, nylon holster that fits the istick like a glove, Boba's Bounty, Razzleberry, English Toffee, 555, Cinnamon Roll + some DIY all at 6mg.

    Total hardware around 40 USD
Juice around 30 USD per month (bit more with the Boba's)

Yes I do have about 20 mods and 30 tanks and RDAs but that really ends for no other reason that it is a total waste for my style of vaping and the level I enjoy. I will buy 2 more Isticks but Version 2s or something similar. The form factor is brilliant. Battery life is amazing. All this power and airflow touted today is bollocks IMO.

    Happy Vaping :)

Great colind. It's doesn't matter what gear you are using, if it's giving you what you want then it's perfect. Vape on.

Actually V I liked Rayon as well - wicks great and no taste other than Juice - But I saw an interview with Farsalinos and he was concerned that no one really knew how it was made and what the "unknowns" were and for me cotton just does the job fine.

Farsalino recommended cotton only because he doesn't know a lot about the nature of rayon (production details and it's properties afterwards). He didn't give it a big thumbs down.

In fact, it's well documented how rayon is made and thus far no one in the very long ECF thread has presented anything showing that it is harmful. Some even point out that it could be safer than cotton which could have pesticides and other production chemicals in it. All chemicals used in production of rayon are completely absent in the final product. It's used in emergency rooms and in surgeries for bandaging/treatments of open wounds and is also certified as safe (though not as a wicking medium for vaping) by different government agencies. So, IMO, it's no worse to use than cotton which also has the same unknowns and questions along with coil elements such as kanthal, nichrome, etc. (how they interact with ejuice, high heat levels, etc.).

Oh and I forgot to add that it's great to read how happy you are with your vaping setup! Also, thanks for the Farsalino's interview link.

He says untreated/unbleached organic cotton would be best.....btw he doesn't say to not use rayon - probably because he doesn't know enough about it. He said he would be hesitant about it because he doesn't know what's in the final product. I would have to say he's so busy with his current study that he hasn't really looked into what rayon is all about. If he did he would probably have less hesitancy in using it. I think there are far greater potential negative health impacts from ejuice based on chemicals and ingredients used in it.

Points well made -my wording was too strong. To be fair I prefer rayon due to its wicking properties. Anyway for now it's boiled cotton balls for me and perhaps a review on it after the New year, Cheers. Original post should read 1.2 ohms BTW - wattage/volts I have no idea - this is an Istick :)

No Rick I just just boiled the water and let it boil for about 10 mins and then popped the cotton in for about 15 mins. Removed and sun dried.
