I have heard that a proper stirring does a much better job with getting the flavor to settle than an ultrasonic cleaner. Has anyone tried this for themselves? Seems this could be a fun little project that may pay off big in the long run. BTW.... anywhere to find these little teflon coated magnetic stir rods here in Thailand?

I have some friends who just went back to the states for a couple of months. If worse comes to worst I'll order some to their residence and have them bring them back out with other things my wife is getting. I seem to remember a lab supply place out of bangkok with a website. If I find it I'll post a link.

Well seeing as though alcohol evaporates faster than water, I could see why it would improve flavor. The trouble we run into with fresh juice many times is the alcohol based flavorings having a harsh taste. This is why some find leaving uncapped for a while works, anything bringing temps up but still below boiling helps and just uncapping and capping over the time you have your bottle helps too. I think that is just one part of the puzzle with steeping though. There's also some flavors that take time to develop as in the creams and custards. This supposedly is sped up quite fast with ultrasonic cleaners and stirring apparently.

Saw this the other day...Speed Steeping...I wouldn't go longer than 10sec with a 30ml bottle unless it was glass! One of the comments below the vid mentions the bottle turning to jelly and the guy burning himself...?!?
