    Ugh...forgot about that. I was grateful for mine on this trip...had it connected to the US iTunes store so iTunes radio was playing for the entire journey...an absolute Godsend! Radio in the provinces is pretty grim.

    Bandit Air we call 'em here ... the thing is they prop-up the Samui prices to pay for their other unprofitable routes. They also cancel a lot of scheduled flights if they don't meet the quota of booked passengers, so it fills most of the the Samui flights.
    Luckily Samui residents get a 25% discount (a Resident Card costs 300bht/year)
    I think they also do some package special prices with their code-share airlines for connecting international inbound to fill flights.
    Pretty sure Thai Inter is priced the same.
    A mate just flew with Lion Air from the mainland for only 350 odd bht (but, yes it's the slow route for sure).
