If you wanted one there's a few pre orders of the chip going on

Evolv DNA 200D (retail box) PREORDER | Protovapor.com

    Product Description
Protovapor will be carrying the Evolv DNA 200D board. You can preorder it here. This is for the board only in retail packaging. These will ship when Evolv officially releases the boards, ETA 5-7 business days. HOWEVER this is not a guaranteed date, and there could well be delays in the release. We will ship as soon as it is possible.

NOTE: Anything you order with this board will ship along with the board. If you want to order other things and have them ship immediately, please make a separate order.

ALSO NOTE: The Protovapor splash screen shown above will not be programmed onto the boards we ship. “EVOLV DNA 200″ will be standard. The splash screens are easily changed regardless.

HELLO2015 free domestic first class shipping coupon applies.

Because this board is not yet officially released, we do not have official information and specifications on the board. However here is some information that has been made public by third parties, and we can confirm it is accurate to our knowledge:

    Input voltage requirement 9-12.6vdc
    Input current requirement 23A
    Output voltage 9vdc
Max Output current 50A continuous (55A instantaneous)
Batteries supported: 3s Lipo – 3S LifePO4 – External Power Supply, and Evolv engineers speculate that 3 high quality 18650s should work.

You can use multiple wire types. The only TCR that is preprogrammed is the NI200 however you can add your own TCR. Think of it as a graph. On the Y axis you have resistivity on a scale of 0.1 to 10, on the X axis you have Temp on a scale of -100 to 800F. You input different points into that plot to represent the TCR. You can put as many points in the curve as you like, but the curve has to be ascending. You can save/load your curves to/from csv files, but not as a preset.

The software is by far the most customizable solution I have seen to date from any board Mfg. There are something like 80+ variables that you can customize.

    • Battery Meter, Error Flashes, Orientation, Brightness (active, idle, & charging), Fade, Active Time, Battery Chemistry, Battery Cutoff, Ohm lock range, Preheat Time/strength, and much more are customizable.
    • Customizable screens. There are 20 different possible screens generated by the board. You can change them to say or look however you want within the limitations of a 128×32 mono screen. Don’t like the term “Stealth Mode” change it to “Hiding” or whatever.
    • You have 3 pieces of information you can display on the left of the DNA screen, and another 3 while charging, and you can choose any of 10 different variables to display there, like ohms, voltage, temp, etc.
There are several built-in analyzer tools.

    Device monitor
This is real sweet! It monitors over 20 variables in realtime and shows them numerically as well as allowing to graph as many of them as you want. The graphs updates every second, maybe less.

    Atomizer Analyzer
Monitors your atty in realtime to allow to observe resistance stability.

    Case Analyzer
Monitors several variables within your enclosure to predict performance under various charging situations.

    Balance plug is JST-XH 3S.

3x lipo or 3 x 18650, I would say this will be a flop, unless your into table top box mods with flexi tube mounts for your atty.

3x 18650 isn't a route I personally want to go but the demo mod and the vapor shark both appear to be respectable sizes. I have no idea what Li-Po they are using though.

block type lipo maybe, just not too easy to get hold of.
    **Updated**
Im sure this will be a quality chip but I for one would like to see the limitations available for all mods.

example, 9v and 0.4ohms gives you 202.5 watts, but at 1 ohm its 81 watts. For any regulated mod theres 3 possible regions. The most important being the area of resistance where it can deliver min to max watts. The other 2 are the region where you only get partial performance. If this is a 200watt mod, can it deliver across it whole resistance range? This meaning good buck performance at lower ohms and good boost performance at higher ohms.

Is it 3 x 18650 only, or *up to* 3 x 18650? If you can use it with 2 x 18650, I'm down with that, but not 3.

specs say 9V+ so 2x 18650s will not deliver.

It will if it has boost capability.

its output voltage that gets boosted, not the input. Not that its not possible, but if they state input at 9v+ then it will not work at less.

Easily done, im playing with designing these things to and the amount of times I get input values and output values in the wrong place makes me want to give up lol. Ive spent hours doing calculations only to realise a simple mistake at the start.

Well, I guess I'll have to see some reviews and devices with the chip in it to see if it's worth it to me. I have 3 Evolv DNA 40 devices and 2 other TC mods, and I rarely go above 30 watts from day-to-day. I also have a few 100+ watt mods, so I'm pretty much covered at this point.

    Of course, shinyitis....:chinrub:
