Yep as importing nicotine juice is against the law.
also never use DHL, Fedex and so on for importing anything into Thailand.
There must be lots of Threads about this on the Forum, or if anyone just asked first there would be enough of us to tell you, Don't do it..

They might want to charge you high import tax or just give you a fine, you either go and get it or just leave it with them and forget it...

Depends what you have in it, but expect them to call you into Customs to go through the package with you and determine the rate for the contents.

If not labeled with anything concerning e-cig or nic you might can describe it as food flavorings. But this advice is not recommended.

i would cut my losses. simple cost benefit analysis should be a good guide. it cost you $40 to learn your lesson. if there is even a 1% chance they slap you with a big fine or anything related to jail :police: its simply not worth the benefit of $40 worth of juice. reorder with USPS and buy something from mickey to tide you over for a few weeks. :vaping:

know when to holdem, know when to foldem, know when to walk away, know when to run. this falls under the fourth category :depressed:

Really sorry to hear that Mack. From everything I've read on the forums I've never hear of anyone receiving even a threat of fine's or jail. What happens is a request for Duty Tax that can be quite high as they determine the value rather that going by what the invoice states.
The fact that its a supposedly prohibited item doesn't seem to be a issue in the stories I've seen.

If you really want it, be prepared to pay the customs officer as much as you paid for the juice. Otherwise take yourantbob's advice, cut your losses and re-order using regular air-mail next time.

Everyone seems to agree, shipping DHL or FEDEX will always be held by customs for duty tax.
International Air Mail (the cheapest option) has work 6 times now for me without a hitch.

Just want to throw in my first encounter with Thai customs...bought a pack of 5 cartons of Marlboros at the airport for my girlfriend's dad. Was stopped at the green gate at the airport and told by the customs agent it was no problem, stick them in my suitcase and no worries. Stopped again on the other side of the wall, customs agents opened my suitcase and proceeded to take me literally downtown, gave me a 22,000 baht fine, and took all the cigarettes. Yes, these are the same people who are calling you in. If I were you I would just abandon it and never use DHL for anything again.

I agree with Ryan. Forget it. To be honest food is not the same as nicotine Asieexpat. 190ml of juice and I got hit at the Port Authority in Laem Chabang, AFTER Thai customs had their look in Bangkok and cleared it. 2130 B in tax and he hit me on the shipping as well. He didn't even know what it was before he hammered me for the tax. Had worked it out before I even got there and opened the package for him - it was NOT labeled as nicotine. Actually thought I wanted to sniff it and it was some kind of illicit drug or something.

I only went to get it because the notification I had received stated that they had tried to deliver twice and that there was nothing to pay. I thought i was going to the Post Office hub in Laem Chabang. Wrong.

I also have a big order stuck in customs right now. Just received the dreaded white and green slip from the post office, notifying me that the package is at customs. I have had this before with an order from HealthCabin a few months ago. I had a Thai friend go and try to pick it up. They wouldnt release it and sent it back to China. I got credited back HealthCabin for the order minus the shipping costs.

In October I received an order of 28x 15ml bottles from MBV, no problem. All I had to do was pay something like 3 baht at the post office.

The order that is stuck in customs right now is quite a bit larger, probably around 20x 50ml bottles and some 15ml bottles. Also from MBV. :(

I will go to customs tomorrow to try if I can get it released, willing to bribe a bit. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I remember a member also had an MTBaker package with customs, they had to pay something like 2k to get it, but they got it which is a surprise as as it's nic juice I thought they wouldn't have got it. Maybe the member will read this and post about it...

When I had to pay 22k for 5 cartons of cigarettes to be seized there was no bribing them, the missus at the time tried and failed. There was also no negotiating to keep the cigarettes. If you do go, which I wouldn't advise in the first place, be prepared to pay a stiff fine and walk away with nothing.
