I have 2 Ego V3 Mega LCD mods. Both bought when I started vapig, so less than a month old. I have noticed with both of them that if I take more than 4-5 consecutive puffs on them, I only use a Mini Protank 2 with these, The battery starts to heat up quickly, bottom half of the MOD, and can in fact get quite uncomfortably warm if I don't stop for a few minutes.

I asume I am worinkg the battery to hard but I am still quite concerned by this and so I have stopped using them for now.

Is this a common occurence with these units, or most smaller mAh mods?

Are they still safe to use, but with less intense vaping?

    Cheers

That's because the battery doesn't have the power to sustain consistent use.

I have the same problem with my iTaste V3

You don't have that problem, with a mech mod. Sorry to harp on about it, but I can get.... hold on, let me try.. I've just had 15 consecutive pulls off my protank 3 with an 18350.

I thought it was that but was still a tad worried. Didn't want to take the risk without asking.

And don't worry about "harping" regarding Mech Mods. I think, I am becoming a convert for my future mods. At least for the next one I get. I have already been looking around for something "special" shall we say. Having a VTR is enough for vaping clearomizers. I am now waiting for some Kayfun 3.1 RBA clone to arrive, When Thai Post can find the package from the tracking number, And am considering several different Mech Mods atm. All top end price range but I'm in no hurry to get them all and will wait for the right one once I find it. Also very interested in the Kraken RBA by Viscious Ant. Still looking there as well. lol

I use joyetech ego batteries, ego twist, vision spinner and itaste vv-v3. All of them get hot when I chain vape but it takes much more than 4-5 puffs, and usually its the area around the atomizer/coil that gets hot first before the battery itself.

Sounds like your mega's are underpowered for you and possibly dangerous if you continue to use a hot battery. You should buy something different.

Thanks for that. I already have a 134 on order, Should be here this week. That and the VTR will keep me going for a while until I can decide what mech I want. Shame though as I liked to use it with my mini protank 2's. and keep the VTR for the larger clearo's that don't need the extension. Not to worry. Just have to adapt and overcome. Also better for a more stealthy vape than the VTR.

My experience with the ego's are the same as Ai-Naam's. After vaping the ego's get hot around the part where the coil is and also the fire bottom gets hot. But hat was when I chain vaped on ego's entirely. You only have one tank it seems Pommyb, so my advice would be to try out different tanks, and also maybe change the resistance of the coil to around 1,8 to 2,1 ohm can be done when you buy extra coils for the Pro tank mini, since the coil has a resistance of 2.5 ohm. And also when you fill the tank also clean the tank a bit.I always take the coil out and clean the bottom part with a paper tissue.

And yes Fruit lover is right the ego's can give up to 4 to 5 watts, that is the limitation, where the bigger electronic mods can be used until about 12,5 - 15,0 watts. Yes fruit lover the mechanical mods can also give at least up to 15 or more watts.

I have used multiple coil resistance and different tanks as well unfortunately. Protank 3 and protank 2 mini as well as iClear 30s, which is obviously a top coil as well. the V V3 is adjustable up to 15w as well by it still heats the bottom of the Battery on both Mods. Although I have used it mainly with the Mini Protank2 on it. Sound advice though Dieter and something I had not considered before.

I think I will just be using them for emergrency use only as a light vape Mod. I have tried this and they have no heating issues. With increased use again, on the same tank, same juice and same output, they again begin to get warm. Must be how I vape. No issues with teh VTR and I have a 134 coming hopefully later this week so I will manage fine without them. Now to beging the huint for a new Mod.:grin::grin:

I use the iTaste V3 for my back up mod just in case anything goes wrong.

Don't want to find myself needing nicotine and only have cigarettes.

That's what the eGo's are for me. Originally I bought them as a mobile device and the VTR for home, but I can hide the VTR, almost completely so relegated them to back, up mods and for the Mini Protank 2's so an extension wasn't need too often. I will continue to use them for that but keep the vape time to a minimum in one go. A shame but that is the way it goes.

Whatever works for you, mate. It's all good.

BTW you might want to try a cigarette today, now that you have been vaping for three weeks.

I tried it and was really surprised by the taste.

Give it a go and let me know how it went.

    Trust me, it's a real mind F***

I honestly don't think I could. I was down at my local bar last night (well there's a surprise :pleasure:) vaping merrily away and the SMELL of analogues was enough to start turning me green. Tasting one, after that, would probably complete the process that smelling them started. :vomit:
