1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

Just read the article. Some very good reader comments, 99% deciding the story was b*llocks. One made me smile, "What juice was he vaping? Battery acid?"

Before we jump to conclusions, it may be possible that he was using an authentic Magma RDA. The name says it all. Add in some nice Corrosion e-liquid and the massive power of any Kanger mod and I can see what happened here. The combination of the red hot magma and Corrosion e-liquid with 40 watts of power can create a very dangerous situation. The Arctic tank and Ice Cold e-juice also would seem to be a bad combination. An Ego battery with this combination could cause frostbite to the lungs. Use common sense people. Some combinations are just too dangerous.

I've thought about this a little more and we may be on the right path to finding out the mysteries of Spontaneous Human Combustion. Since I researched this for at least two seconds and I am reporting it here, I am a scientist and reporter. My conclusions should now be accepted as fact. Vaping causes Spontaneous Human Combustion. Hopefully I can have this published by the time the morning paper comes out. I've called for them to stop the presses so that this information can get to the public as quickly as possible.

Are you back in person, or just a presence on the 'net?
Back to the Original Post.... This is from a Newspaper (this term does not actually apply to this rag) and it is similar to the American National Enquirer- they thrive on selling lies.
The next 'News' article mentions that eating from certain Fast Food packaging 'could' turn women into men, quite a reasonable assumption, of course.

Also, I don't know what KangerTech device he had, but it must have been pretty High Tech since it cost £100- can't think which one that could be.
It did wonders for his hairstyle, also.

When i read stories like this my first reaction is to ask who might have "sponsored" the guy behind big tobacco or big pharma ? I am eagerly awaiting for an x ray picture that actually shows the hole through the lung. I don't guess they have it. A spitting tank, can happen but under normal conditions you would react and clean the thing before continue to vape on it. .. Vaping nicotine is dangerous for politicians and the media. With 0 mg nicotine, I believe their crap, with 12 mg nicotine, my brain sharpens, and I start ask questions, they cant answer, or show them where they are wrong.

Still in the US. I should be back by the first of March. I am still active in this forum. It's a much better place to hang out than a lot of those big BS forums. You know I will contact you when I get back.

Don't millions die each year from tabacco smoking related illnesses ? Problem is that people dying and suffering from tabacco caused illnesses, well, it ain't "news" anymore.

A friend forwarded me the one about popcorn lung from UK Nhs site. Thinking about who Nhs is in bed with, certainly big pharma, and government has interest too in lost taxes from tabacco products. I lost interest in the article with the words "was implicated in" relating to the butter flavour. "Was implicated in", is not the same as "has been proven to be the cause of".

Also daily mirror I don't think has a reputation for reporting truth, of being a shining beacon of science and, it's more entertainment than news. Entertainment that aims to sell newspapers and advertising, and suits the agendas of it's owners, who're probably in bed with big pharma, big tabacco and government who is losing tax revenues.

Now that vaping has gained momentum in UK, Europe, U.S. And I think Asia, fingers want to be in pies. I reckon the next step will be taxation of nicotine, then tax of e-liquids and then tax on e-cigarette equipment. Big pharma would presumably like in on e-liquids, as presumably does big tabacco.

My couple of pence worth, anyway.

I worked in the same company which made the flavour.

It did not matter for years anymore, but "they" are pulling it out. The case smelled - oh no it was stinking from the very first second we were informed. Investigators from inside the flavour company found the flavour was used at multiple overdose rate, the process was lacking, and the factory had completely insufficient ventilation.
After the company tried to investigate more the managment was told to redraw the flavour and shut up. That's what they did, otherwise the company may have gotten in trouble selling products inside USA in future.

    :)

The shame here really is that ex-smokers finally found a cessation device that works, and then other's greed kicks in, and wants to exploit them at their most vulnerable, via not even "fair" means. I'm appalled, but not suprised ...

Hopefully the good that will come of things like this is more research into what's safe to vape and what's not, and also quality control on the vape hardware. No sane ex-smoker wants to be out of the frying pan, into the fire.

And hopefully Vapers will be part of this process, rather than it being taken over by big tabacco, big pharma and government.
    **Updated**
TBH, I tried what I think is the same microwave popcorn in the past. It tasted to me vile, nothing like real butter on popcorn. So never bought it again, and would prefer unflavoured microwave popcorn, and add my own butter.

And thanks for sharing first hand experience - I think Vapers would be the first to ask for better quality control and safety from manufacturers of liquid and vape hardware, and all the components therein, the opposite just doesn't make any sense.
