So I went and bought a dripper a few days ago and, apart from running it dry a few times by mistake, vaoing is really nice except for one problem.

I am getting a very definite metallic taste from the tank itself since new. It is not a coil problem, I get teh taste as soon as I put the drip tip in my mouth for a draw and it comes from there. Also I have the same taste coming from the dripper with the cape as well, although much fainter. I assume this is something to do with the steel. Is there anything anyone can suggest I do to the tip and dripper to get rid of this god awful taste from the metal?

    Many thanks

Had the same problem with my Kraken clone. Washed it in hot water 4 or 5 times, still tasted horrible. Took it all apart, off the o-rings and boiled it, so much grease came out of the positive post it left a ring around my pot. Still getting a tiny hint of the taste so I'm thinking I'll have to run it through again. I'm guessing you'll find boiling it will help.

I have a feeling you're right. I cleaned it thoroughly with surgical alcohol, detergent and then hot water before use and again after I started getting the taste, but I have got to get rid of it. So I will give that a go tomorrow. Many thanks

Did you also pull the screws out of the posts? And was there any damage to the rubber insulator on the positive post?

All the screws were pulled, but the insulator on mine was Delrin, not rubber. No damage, although I checked every few seconds for the first few minutes. If it were rubber I would have pulled the center pin and taken out the rubber.
