Just started getting burnt hits from my stock coil.
Had about a tank through it, refilled and closed the juice control to about half way (It was wide open), I should of just left it alone.
Only vaping it at 35w, first few draws were fine then got a manky one. Immediately opened the juice control wide open again, Couple of good hits followed by another manky one and several more reduced vapor hits.

I chucked it in the bin and am now using the pre built RBA section which comes out at 1.03r for the time being.

If its in the bin, post it to me then I can see how easy they are to build.

I didn't go too gently but the best way to separate the two sections would be to hold the lower part with grips, some silicone or similar might help not to scratch it up, and then put a screwdriver inside resting on the upper lip and then work your way around 'jimmying' it out.
I think I could do it neatly next time, my only concern here was finding the best way to separate the two sections.

PB took one apart in his review from this week. It can be done far easier/neater.

As for rebuilding, mine didn't have the 'unknown material' his had inside. Mine went back together ok apart from I ripped the rubber seal somehow.
I suggest removing the pin and seal/insulator prior to pulling one apart :D

I just watched the PB review, looks like a good coil for rebuild if you can get it apart easier than he did lol.

    *Remove, the pin and insulator
*Hold the lower section with grips and with a pair of needle nose pliers put one jaw inside and clamp onto the lip and use the leverage to remove it (work your way around).

It needs a fair bit of leverage so a small piece of silicone may help to reduce damage to the coil head but I think it can be done with little to no damage whatsoever.

OK, so I've just tried to take a new coil apart. Separated the two sections with only superficial damage but this time the 'lid' holding the coil in place was on solid. I just put it back together as there is not much to grip to and didn't fancy stabbing my finger with a screwdriver trying to pry it open.
Maybe when they have had some heat and juice through them they are easier to work with?

I'm gonna chuck this one in the freezer and see what happens.

I'm using the RBA base right now...just cotton & kanthal. Not sure about the LVC coils...Joyetech site isn't very specific.

I put the coil in the freezer for 10 minutes and it came apart much easier. The lid that was nailed on before fell off. Definitely some 'unknown' fibrous material in this one.
I assumed the wire was 26ga nichrome so used 26ga kanthal 7 wraps but it came out to 1.34r.
I just used the cotton that came with the rba section, installed the head with the juice control open after saturating the wick.
    It was flooded.
I closed the juice control right up about 1/5 but it still overwicked. When juice started p!ssing out of the afc I called it a day. I'll have another go in the week with some shitty juice I don't mind losing. Halo.
I think the stock coil is 4mm diameter.
Some pics. Didn't take any until I had nearly finished lol

After using this for a couple of days my honeymoon period is over.

I only used one stock coil, was great initially and then very inconsistent.
After moving to the pre-made rba section that was the same good at first and then inconsistent.

Building yourself the screws are shit and you need to wrap the legs around the screws a full rotation otherwise they will easily pop out.

The biggest fcuk up of this device is the stupid idea of no removable chimney shaft. Cleaning and drying is impossible.
