Coils for OBS Crius RTA

I ordered the OBS Crius RTA V3.. Curios about what coils people are using in this dual built deck.. What built are you using for your choice of vape and flavor, What kind of wire, how many ohms and watt is running best in this tank?

 

I've only had two builds in mine: 24ga/2.5mm/0.27r/50w & 26/2.5mm/0.41r/36w. Both seem to comfortably go much higher in power.

 

Mine should arrive tomorrow. I got both 24g and 26g. And im getting some nicrome 0.3N80 to try also...
Did it came prebuilt with nicrome coils or Kanthal?

Got two big orders on the way with two new mods. eVic- VTC Mini and SMOK Xpro M65. And a lot of other goodies

Im feeling like a kid waiting for Christmas.

 

It doesn't come pre-built with anything although I believe there is some wire included, but I have no idea what it is.

 

My last build in this was dual Clapton, 26/32ga. Around 0.55ohm at 38-40W. Using 20/80 juice and it's a nice vape on this.

 

With kanthal? how many wraps?

 

First would be round 6 wraps I would think, second one close to 7. Given that Kanthal is used.
But I may totally mistaken of course

 

I can't remember but Jon isn't far off I'm sure. 6-7 sounds about right.

 

Okay, my OBS came this morning, my coils if are fine. 0.3 ohm, But im struggling with the juice control, im a vaping 60pg/40vg.

I don't get it. After 3 re-wicks i still get to much juice in the camber. No matter how i adjust the juice control its like a firework in there, really noisy. I guess i need more cotton in those holes.. What`s your guys wicking experience on this tank? To tired to re-wick tonight

There is also juice spitting all the way up in the drip tip

 

yes put more Cotton in that slots and its fine !

Vaping @ 0.15 Ohm SS Wire 6 Wraps each Side

 

Done, its works great now. The cotton on this tank requires a little bit more stuffed cotton in juice holes compared to my other RTA (subtank mini)

Nichrome Nichrome Nichrome Nichrome Go get some if you are smoking Kanthal on your OBS!

Nichrome actually gives me a better flavor of the vape compeered to Kanthal. So I'm happy even thou I can't use the TC with my Evic mini mod. My OBS got really hot vaping on Kanthal, with Nicrome not so hot at all.

Easy to make coils as well compeered to Kanthal. I make my coils with screwdrivers and the Nicrome is mutch easier to work with.

I can recommend this to you guys that are vaping Kanthal wire on you OBS. Nicrome seems to me to give a better taste and lower heat. Im wicking with Japanese organic cotton pads from Muji.

 

Just a curiosity question, how many of you guys got this V3 tank?

I still have the same build in mine as above. Now measuring 0.42r @4.2v / 42w (OCD )

 

Bypass mode or Power mode?

I found the best built for mine, 26g 0.39r ID 2.3 (blue screw driver from subtank)
