What device are you using it on?
What wattage are you using it on?
Is this a pre made stock coil or one you built?
Is this with a brand new coil?
Do you let it soak well with juice before vaping it with a new coil?
What PG/VG juice are you using?

My mod is kanger subtank mini. I use only 15watts. I bulit my coil with 5 rounds at 3mm. Yes it is a brand new coil. I always soak well before vaping it.

Picture might help. From my thread posted about wicking I got that more is more for cotton wicking. I've used kanger RBA with similar setup, burning with new wick doesn't sound right at all. I use organic cotton for wicking. Also make sure screws onto coil are tight, they can come loose !

Usually the only time I get burnt taste is :

    1. Wattage too high, airflow too low
    2. Out of juice
    3. Crap juice
    4. Wick gunked, needs replacing

I know you said that it is a new wick and coil but how long have you been vaping on it because that looks like a dirty wick and coil to me. Try cleaning the coil and changing the wick?

    What he said.

Btw, where is the o-ring? The red colour O-ring that keeps the glass tank from touching the base and prevent leaking. See this..

I think there's some kind of vacuum effect that happens with sealed chamber, I see bubbles rise up from juice holes ... But wondering how leaking juice wasn't the first issue !

In any case well done @etlava for spotting that.

The wick and coil don't really look bad to me. It just looks like it's been 'broken in' enough to get the cotton taste out of it.

15 watts may be too high. I am primarily using drippers these days, but mine got too much crud built up, and I was too lazy to put new cotton and switched to the tank (Taifun GSII at 1.1 ohm on an SMY TC50). I was getting a few dry/burning hits so had to reduce to 12. (When I used the dripper I had a 1ohm coil set at 40 watts.)

Also keep in mind that if you take too many drags/inhales in a row (i.e. chain vaping) you can use up more juice faster than can be replaced by juice going up the wick. That's why I prefer drippers because you can really saturate them.
