    Hi guys,

Just got my hand on a Magma couples of days ago. I started with a reasonable 1.4ohms single micro coil, same style as the one I have on my Russian 91%.

Well, I was not impressed to say the least. Yes flavor and vapor are much better than my Russian but I find the vapor so freaking hot.

I tried tonight a double micro coil, 28ga, went down to 0.7ohms. This is just impossible to take a proper lung hit with it (MBV 50/50 6mg juice), the vapor is burning hot ! The magma gets hot too, a lot.

My question is, what coil build do you recommend to get the best out of the Magma ? It will sit on the IVP2, in case that help.

    Thank in advance folks !

I don't have a magma anymore but I think it was a warmer vape than other attys. was never hot though. What's your wire gauge and wattage?

    28ga, 6 or 7 wraps on a 2mm screwdriver (like a toothpick maybe). I tried at 25 and 35 watts

I use singel coil like Rip Trippers recommend as well .. between 1.1 and 1.4 Ohm ! It works great for me :vaping::vaping:

    1.4 Ohms at 25-35 watts ? ... maybe that's your problem - I'd simply lower the wattage ...

i have a similar single coil build on mine and it's not too hot at all - can be a bit throaty depending on the juice

also, single coil you could try using the 2 air-hole option

I have a dual coil, not single. I tried the single coil, it was great at 18watts. But it wad close to what I get with the Russian

I run a dual coil, 4/5 wraps of 28 ga @ 0.43 ohms. No watt setting, no volt setting, just pure unadulterated power. I get a great vape.

Maybe the position of your coils too high vertically or is leading to the heat? I get a warm vape from mine (dual coil .5 ohm) and after several pulls within a short period of time the Magma and drip tip can get pretty hot. Oh and I had added a delrin insulator piece below my drip tip to help reduce it's heat.

    Thanks guys for your feedbacks.

So definitely subohms with the Magma?

Coils are same height as the single micro coil was.

I've had mine a couple of weeks (using at the moment) and haven't had too much of a problem ( about 1.0 ohm, single coil, 28gauge). I do find the more volatile juices (e.g. Grape) give a bit of a through hit compared to the Kayfun, but no more than any of my other RDAs.

Cool Bic, thanks for the info. How many wraps have you done?

8 wraps at the moment (26AWG around a 2.4 mm screwdriver). Comes out at 0.85ohms. This was my first time with 26 gauge (usually use 28AWG). I really like the 26AWG.

By the way, I accidentally used a smaller air hole last night (single coil mode) and my Magma heated up a lot and the vapour was quite hot. I put it back to the biggest air hole which made a major difference.

Which air hole have you been using?

Just did first build on mine. 30g on 2.4mm drill bit 7 wraps x 2 coils giving 1.04 ohms. My coils are sitting higher than they would on my kayfun, twice as high. Have not noticed any heat at all, using on a nemesis and vaping MBV vanilla tobacco 50/50.

The largest ones. My coils get warm but I expect that at 0.43 ohms.
