So I have an efest LUC charger that has 0.5 amp and 1.0 amp charging options. Outside of the latter being faster than the former, is there any difference in charging? Specifically, is one setting better than another setting when charging 20 amp or higher batteries?

Just my opinion, but unless you are in a hurry use the .5 amp setting. The less heat you put into the battery the longer is will last. It will take twice as long to charge the battery tough. Vaping batteries take a beating, so to say. Give them a chance to take it easy for a while.

Most of the high drain batteries specify a 'standard' charge current of 1 amp or higher so the 1 amp setting will work fine. However, if you have the time (it does take awhile), the 0.5 amp setting is gentler on your batteries and may increase their cycle life.

After three hours, my Samsung's are charged. I only take them down to 3.6 volts too. Wow, that took a while.

I heard a rumor that a slower charge might mean a deeper charge. Is this true?

I only charge @ higher than .25 if I am in some sort of hurry. My Xtar VP2 can charge at .25, .5 or 1 amp. The slower you charge/discharge them, the longer they last.
