    Hi Vapers,
I am a newbie here in TV and in vaping in general.
Have bought a Kangertech subox mini as my first starter kit from a local thai vendor (a friend of my colleague)
Been vaping for a month now and recently i found out that my kit is not authentic (the good news is I havent smoked any cigarettes since I bought it though)
that build quality is very low and the QR code on the box actually shows a different code then the one thats on my box
The worst problem is that my tank doesn't really screw into the base at all, it just stays with the pressure of the coil head and the o ring.
Any small touch and it will leak
I found a way to keep the contact and not leak, but I cant take it in my pocket and even any bag as the movement will make it leak again.have to alway hold it in my hand and standing flash on a table.
Already ordered a new Evic vtc mini with cubis from FT but I assume it will only arrive in a out 2 weeks at best and I dont want to go back the analog cigs.
    can anyone please advise:
    a. who is a trust worthy vander that carries tanks in stock
    b. should I get a new subtank mini to match my mod (mod is fake but seem to work just as well) or buy a cubis and be sure I will have no more leaks.

    thanks in advance,
    Roni.

Hi, welcome to Thailandvapers. Have you tried browsing through TV local vendors for new tank? Delivery is usually very fast and reliable. I think cubis is still available (the last I checked).

Leaking subtank mini. I have both original and clone subtank. My clone doesn't screw all the way down to the base as well (very tiny unnoticeable gap) but no leak. Sometimes if I screw it too tight (clone), it will cause firing problem, so it's not necessary (IMO). Over filling the tank will also cause leaking. Maybe try changing the o-ring with the spare provided in the gift box? If you ever decided to buy another subtank mini, don't choose black or any coloured tank. The colour will chipped off eventually.

    thanks for the reply.

mine doesnt screw at all if there is no coil head inside.

it can spin endlessly and in the end i can just pull the tank out of the base with ease. I tried both o rings.

when i have the coil head in, i can use it to find the spot wth most pressure on the thread and it will stay in place and not leak at all, as long as I am being careful with the tank.

I already ordered the cubis with an evic vtc mini from fast tech so I will be using it soon :)

I have seen the local vendors in TV, just wanted to know if anyone can recommend a trust worthy one that will not sell clones as authentic. (or maybe all the vender listed in TV are legit? )

The vendors on here are trustworthy...bought a lot of stuff from them and never ended up with a clone AFAIK...this includes Micky (closed until 2 April), Big & Tienga.

There are several more suppliers listed in this section of the forum - Thai Vaping Vendors Info. We've not had any reports that any are selling clones (but that doesn't mean they're not). ;)

Looks like your you have a faulty screw thread. At the moment with the coil head in, it's the small o-ring inside it that holds the chimney thus your tank together. I would just let it stays vertical from now on.

    :very good:

What @Siam Diesel said. I have no issues so far from TV vendors.

There is an old guitar repair trick you could try. The screws on an electric guitar sometimes strip the wood directly around the screw hole. The way to fix is put gel superglue inside the hole, and insert a screw. The super glue is essentially liquid plastic, which will form and mold around the threading of the screw, so you can unscrew it or screw it back in with additional support. The thing with a mod though is that the threaded bottom part is the negative so you can't have superglue all over the place because it will be an insulator. If you leave enough contact area for electricity to flow over, the superglue should give you more threads to grip the atty being screwed on. Never tried it on a mod myself, but it might work.

Hi Roni. Welcome to TV. I have limited manual skills, so I'm happy for other posters to shoot me down in flames, but how about filing the chimney down just a tad, until the tank seals? By hand though. Not with an angle grinder like I'd use for a quick result.

    @farangmick Hi Mick,

    thanks for the welcome.. :)

well I was in Big's shop today and bought a new Cubis tank. I know this is not the review section but as of now, I am extremely disappointed with the cubis. (Maybe I will write a review latter)

so I will be happy to find a solution and fix my Subtank mini.

Not sure that I understand what you mean by filling the chimney. filling it with what?

BTW, Now I know that my base is fine and the problem is definitely with the threading of the tank. (Big screwed his subtank on my base and it worked and my tank wouldn't screw on his base as well.

I really want to try @Submaniac 's Superglue system, but I dont want to Glue my tank shut or inhale any glue vapes :cigar:

@Submaniac is Gel superglue safe then liquid one? and it doesnt stick to metal?

Not filling, filing, i.e. shaving a bit off the end so it doesn't push down on the coil as you tighten the tank. A little bit at a time until it fits.

    Ohh...

that will probable not help. if I try to screw it with no coilhead at all, and 0 pressure from the chimney, the tank does not screw in. the chimney pressure is the only think keeping my tank closed.

    Hi Roni,

Just to make sure we're clear, I have NOT tried the superglue with a mod . I've tried and used the trick successfully with guitars, but I don't see why it wouldn't work with mods.

Superglue does not stick to metal. I mean it will stick, but the hold is very weak so it easy to break when you thread a screw. What your left with is a plastic reverse mold of the threading. Before doing it with your mod you can practice on something else. Like practice on a block of wood with a screw and you can see what I mean. You'll get the point. There won't be fumes because once it dries it is just plastic. I would just practice practice practice on something other than your mod. Once you feel comfortable then try it with your mod. If after you've practiced and are still not comfortable with your mod, then don't do it.

The gel and the liquid superglue are the same thing. The regular superglue is extremely runny and hard to work with. The gel stays in one place and is much easier to work with.

If the threading is shot on the atty, I just don't know what else to fix it. The alternative would be to throw the atty out. I figured might as well give it a shot and fix it.
