1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.

I wanted to get the mod described here 45000mAh mini box mod for 350 Thb, what can possibly go wrong. | Thailand Vapers

I have a buttload of these batteries that I bought off of fasttech ($2.50 for a pair). $4.83 As-Is Sony US14500V 14505/14500 680mAh 3.6V Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (2-Pack) 2-pack - with carrying case at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

That mod uses AA batteries, but I would like to use 14500 batteries instead. 14500 are the same physical size as a AA battery, but is lithium ion, and runs at 3.6 volt. I tried doing an internet search but there's not that much info I could find on 14500 batteries. Would it be safe to run two 14500 batteries in this mod? At two batteries it would be 7.2 volts. Would three 14500 be making a grenade?

Guess with that mode probably yes. The build quality alone from the pictures doesn't look relay save i would say. But whiteout any further electronic knowledge i can really judge the mod but i know i would not want to try it for the same reason.
Maybe the build of the device like the wiring alone could promote a problem for 7.2 volts however if you do try this device please report back how it does.

Dont try it, theres no tech details on this mod or its safety fetures, a mod designed for 1.2 volt batterys is not going to be compatible with 4.2 volt batterys, ok ive done no research on this but it seams pretty clear to me that this is not a serious mod, I have been waiting for someone thats had the time to give better technical advice on ths but really, I would not touch this, the scope for a really dangerouse settup to me is obviouse, unless the regulation gives you protection, to witch theres no details. without sutch this is a very dangeros mod.

I think you'd be asking for trouble...stay well clear of this (or behind a blast proof shield)!

Just to clarify, my answer was to the mod could be a possible grenade when using 3 * 14500.
