Anyone else having a problem with leaking from the Orchid?

I am finding alot of juice flowing out of the dual airholes of the Orchid. LIke most of the juice I am putting in there is getting wasted by flowing out of the air holes. I thought it may be my filling technique, but I am now using the kayfun top fill cap and it's still doing it. Am I doing something wrong, or has anyone else experienced this problem?

    None. I bought the V2.

I did try top filling it a couple of times, both times leaked a tiny bit.

Is it while filling only or anytime afterwards?

If the former, are you sealing both airholes while filling and are you tipping it over before finishing screwing on the top? Just thinking of the pressure or lack of it being a possible reason.

If the latter, maybe the o ring inside the top cap went missing or has issue? On my V1 that ring comes out about 50% of the time when I unscrew the top but doesn't happen with my V2 or V4s. Could be a problem with a seal somewhere or maybe too much wick on deck or laying close to airhole for it to be doing that after fill and through time.

Hope you get her sorted, Sub!

I have the V1 and leaking was happening right after filling the juice up and screwing down the top cap. Then I tried with blocking the airholes, upside down, flipping the crap out of it, rolling it on the side...nothing. leaks leaks leaks.

Then I got tired and I thought, since it's gonna leak, I should not even bother doing so many tricks. So I simply unscrew the top cap, fill it up and screw it back down.

Then immediatly I take a couple of long puffs and taaadaaaam no leaking anymore.

I haven't master it yet but there is some kind of pressure in the tank that needs to happen, otherwise it leaks. Maybe the fill hole on you top cap does not close properly, so you don't have that pressure needed.

It's happening to me constantly, not just after the tank has been filled. Like I said, I use the KF to fill tank. I am finding that even after filled with juice, when I talk a draw o it, the juice leaks out. As if when I inhale it draws the juice into the chimney and out through the air holes.

I seem to be really lucky in avoiding leaks when filling the V1...extremely rare for me and have found that when it does happen it's either because my fingers had slid off the airholes at some point during my fill and tip over process or I filled it too high and it leaks a bit at the top when screwing it down. I just did another fill maybe 10 minutes ago on the V1 and not a bit of a leak. I better knock on wood or something. :)

Good suggestion on the fill hole seal, Tibo.

Sounds like there is a bad seal somewhere so it may be worth substituting the o-rings with the spares? Also might want to check if your wicking is OK. Either too much causing pooling or the opposite in that if you do not have the bed at the very top of the channels covered with enough wick its going to accumulate on the bed and then down the airhole.

Good question. I don't know. One of the first things I did was use another top cap. I'll see what happens when it's on there.

I am also finding that if I don't fill the tank very much, it won't leak either.

i had this problem today after putting new cotton in - culprit was not enough cotton and barely touching the deck.

Yeah, I think I found the culprit and fixed it. After screwing around with the wicking, I needed to put cotton in the channels. Too much and you get dry hits because not enough juice flowing. Too little cotton and it floods and comes out the air holes. Just enough to block juice from just flowing in and making it go onto the cotton, and it works great.

The Orchid is indeed very sensitive to wicking. The V1 at least.
