A new vise & a new vice - Drilling the Squape

After waking up at 06:30 this morning, showering and shaving and drinking my coffee ready to go to work, the girlfriend said "where are you going?". Somewhat bemused I replied "to work dear!". To cut a long story short, one should check one's calendar every Sunday night prior to going to bed to ascertain whether or not it is actually a public holiday the next day.

So with time on my hands, coffee consumed, I decided to finish drilling out my Squape!

These things are known to have a really tight draw. So I had watched a couple vids and had been contemplating drilling out the air channel.

This may not seem like a big deal. In the end it wasn't! And quite frankly it was much easier than I thought it would be.
I am not the most technically proficient handy-man around but am inclined to tinker on occasion.

I just needed a new vise (see below, I'm also prone to damaging myself so this was essential) - a 1/16 titanium drill bit - my trusty Bosch drill and, once again, Bob's your aunty!

I removed the 510 screw from the bottom of the atty. Removed the coil. Drilled out the small air hole in the side of the 510 connection shaft, then turned it around the other way and drilled straight down through the center from where the coil usually sits.

(I had actually done this in two phases. The small air hole on the shaft was drilled on Friday night. I wanted to check before proceeding with the center hole in the main body. Just drilling the one hole does improve it somewhat but it really needs both done.)

All up - about 5 minutes and it was done. Clean thoroughly in water and blow out any metal shavings.
Due to the fact that the holes are already there, the drilling was a piece of cake.

Now vapes like a Russian! (but holds more juice)
