1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

    Hi all

I’ve been smoking 20-25 cigarettes a day for 36 years. In my early 20s I didn’t care, late 20s had children so thought about it a little more, in my 30s cheated myself into thinking I would quit when they reach £5.00 a pack, 40s actually stopped liking it and tried to stop many times but when it came to my addiction, I had no willpower whatsoever. Being very curious by nature, whenever I stopped through one of my failed attempts or being ill, I always had to find out if I still liked it and what it tasted like – utterly stupid.

However, 10 weeks ago a friend Nicks, started vaping/smoking and 8 weeks ago she quit smoking altogether. I was fascinated and asked her to order me a kit. It arrived 12 days ago and she filled a tank for me to try. During the next 48hrs I had many coughing and spluttering episodes whilst trying to vape but couldn’t get it right, every inhalation burnt. Two other friends were also trying at the same time, with identical kits and they were suffering the same problems; we were all fine using Nicks set up but not our own. We changed batteries, watts, volts and liquid, all to know avail. Then lunchtime day 10, Nicks switched my tank for hers and hey presto – no problem vaping at all. We did the same to the other two newbies and the result was the same for them too. We all bought new tanks and 8 mornings ago, I started vaping and miraculously for me, I QUIT SMOKING there and then.

I’d opened a packet of cigarettes the evening before, so had 15 remaining. I had them on the sideboard all day and whenever my husband had a cigarette, I vaped instead. Not once, really truthfully, not once did I get the urge to have one of those cigarettes. I only glanced the packet when I had to get something from near it, the rest of the time they were out of my head.

Two days later, my husband went shopping and asked if I needed cigarettes, I was thrilled to say, “no thank you” and then told him I still had the same packet on the side with 15 in it. The next morning, I threw them away!

My hair no longer smells like an ashtray, I unclip it and it smells clean at the end of the day, my hands don’t smell, I can take a deep breath without tightness at the top, a week in and my daily exercise is easier with no painful neck vein throb to break through – its early days but I can already feel these improvements and I never want to see myself or be seen with a cigarette in my hand again.

I'm Murrunky and no thank you, I dont smoke.

My kit : Cloupor Mini at 3.6 and 13, Aspire Nautilus Mini, Dr. Stanely’s Snake Oil 6mg

Great story @Murrunky I really like the part where you did not gave up because you had the wrong tank, but found another that made the trick. I had the same problem in my start, the wrong equipment, but also found something that made me stop with the stinkies(cigarettes) welcome to the forum, and is you have questions don't hesitate to ask.:welcome::vaping::vaping::vaping:

Snake oil !!! Oh souvenirs.. I started with this, made me quit immediately. Never vape it ever since but boy did I love that Snake oil. It is a very particular taste. It became a bit too sweet for me after all but I would love to try again. I probably will on my next trip back home.

Welcome and well done @Murrunky , thank you for sharing your story. Big up to Nick who seems a generous and kind friend, starting vaping and quitting cigarette with friend is easier and feels great to achieve something together. I quit with my best friend and it even got us closer.

Keep vaping and hope you'll be happy among us :)

    Hi again

So, I am delighted to report, I am still an non smoker!

The nearest I came to a stinky again was completely by mistake in week 7. On a long car journey, my DH automatically asked me to light one for him, as we were moving through heavy fast traffic, with a mental block I automatically did as requested. As soon as I lit it, the unexpected and really vile taste was in my mouth and despite only holding it long enough to light and pass it over, I could smell it on my hand. My DH hasn't ask me again :)

Since starting to vape, I have changed my set up slightly as I am now using an Eleaf iStick - purchased purely for aesthetics - its a more girly design, similar to Wedgwood bowl pattern. I am still vaping Dr. Stanley's Original Snake Oil, which I love and using the Nautilus Mini with 1.8 coils. A bit fed up with the multitude of dry hits, so still playing with that.

Non smoker 2 months today :)

Good luck if you are thinking to do this too - I feel sooooo much better!!!

    Murrunky

ps. Can anyone tell me how I add the months/days not smoking signature box?
