Anyone got tips about installing coils?

Sometimes when I'm tightening the screws the wire wants to twist. Even holding the coil straight with the drill bit it will put tension in the wire so you have to do a lot of adjusting.

I can get by but have had some perfect looking coils and they end up not quite perfect when I've installed them.

I've got some triple twisted wire and it's got a stubborn memory. It me so long to get them to look decent while installed.

Do you leave the drill bit in place while installing? I also use a ceramic tweezers to compress/set the coil into its final position while pulsing the power gently. ;)

Yeah I leave the drill bit in. I was just thinking maybe I should have tried flattening that triple twisted a bit where the screws tighten. They were the worst, they twisted the most and were not easy to manipulate.

I've only played with single wire coils...maybe @a_spirit will have some ideas on this.

I try and put the coil as close to the posts i can, even touching it, tighten down the screws with the drillbit/coilpin still in the coil and then i pull it out from the posts gently and i use ceramic tweeser to compress it while i still have the drillbit/coilpin in it so i get it as tight as i can before i burn it..
sry for the late response, i didnt see this when i answered last

In a previous life you were obviously official jeweller to the Swedish Court. Seems a shame to fire them.

Some seriously awesome coils. I know people that have building for years (me included) that can't build them like that. Wish you were still here in Thailand, I would definitely be trying to buy some from you. I don't know how you do it but you have some serious skills.

Maybe you could start selling some of those coils to fund your trip. Some of the better known coil builders are getting a pretty penny for theirs and if yours vape half as good as they look you could be the next big name in coils.

I'm with you on that. Work does take the fun out of things but I wouldn't consider you to be money hungry for selling coils like those. I would guess there are only a handful of people in the world with your skill. I'm looking at some of them and thinking "It would be a shame to burn that coil." But that's what they are for.
