Who's feeling intelligent?

So had this Orchid V4 for a few months now and it has, after some tinkering with the builds, worked pretty well on my 2 DNA devices.

However!!!!

I decided that as my Cloupor T8 is crappy but dual battery I would run it on there instead for the longer battery life.

No go. It will not fire and just comes up as check atomiser all the time. So I thought I would try it on my Sigelei 100W. SAME bloody thing!!! Check atomiser. Put it on BOTH DNA's and it fires.

T* and Sig are both adjusted correctly and connecting. I even adjusted it so it was a few mm off the base of teh mod and it STILL shows chesk atomiser.

Any ideas?

 

Strange.
Apart from a possibly useless suggestion of cleaning contact points I have no idea. Has it ever fired on either of those two?

 

What's the Ohm you running the Orchid with?

 

Never tried it on them before but both fire ALL my RDA's no problem. (At least the 6 I tried on them that I had builds in.)

0.7 and rebuilt to 1.1 ohms. All my builds have fired on the DNA's as the 2 above but neither of these will fire on the Sig or T8

I really don't understand this at all. If there was a short I would have thought that at least ONE of the DNA's would pick it up and if not the ohm meter, but all show good builds.

 

will it fire at 20watts?

 

Won't even recognise that there is an atomiser on it at all on either the Sigelei 100 or the T8. DNA's it fires across the board.

 

is it possible that the coil might be touching the chimney and shorting?

 

One thing that I have noticed with the Vapor Shark rDNA is that it prefers that the 510 screw is screwed in a turn abs the same screw setting is fine with Mech Mods-not sure if it would help but instead of turning the 510 out-have you tried to screw it in?

 

As I say. fires and reads the ohms on 2 DNA mods and reads ohms on an ohm meter. Take it from one straight to either the Sig or T8 and all that shows is check atomiser on both. I would have thought that if there was a short either DNA or the ohm meter would have picked it up as well. I have checked and adjusted the 510 connection multiple times. I have put 6 different RDA's on both the Sig and T8 and they all fire no problems. I even rebuilt the Orchid just in case there was something that wasn't being picked up by the DNA's and ohm meter. Same thing. Check atomiser.

I truly have no idea at all as to why it won't fire.

Very frustrating as well as I had planned to put it permanently on the T8 as it doesn't perform well at higher wattages to get the extra battery life and get a Kanger Sub-ohm for one DNA and a Veritas for the other. Only one I haven't tried the Orchid on is my God Mod, and that is because it is a fixed 510 positive post. Not sure it will reach and no good at all for a mobile mod. Might give it a try out of curiosity.

I have had them adjusted from flush to a 2-3mm gap and no change. Unfortunately.

 

Beats me -as I say, though, I was quite surprised that the rDNA liked the 510 screwed in a good turn, compared to both my Nemesis and the Stingray.

 

Did you figure out yet why the set up didn't work on the Sigelei and the T8? Very wired and the first time i hear this.Do you have a mech mod to try the orchid on?

 

I have a mech to try it on but see no point as it fires on 2 different DNA's and reads a good build on an ohm meter. Other than than I have no idea at all as to why it won't fire.

Strangest thing for me is that it won't fire on mods with adjustable positive poins. A fixed pin, like my God Mod I could understand as it may not reach but not when i can fully adjust. Totally stuffed trying to work this one out. lol Think I may just have to bite the bullet and get something different instead.

 

Well my orchid V4 is working just fine on the Sigelei 100W+ and the IPV2. Just strange it works for you on the DNA's and the OHM meter reads it as well.

 

Yep. A mystery I can't solve atm. Short of pulling the Orchid TOTALLY apart and if need be stripping the 510's on the mods as well I think I will just have to buy a new tank suitable for my purposes. I do like the Orchid though. Maybe a Billow or Lemo. Might see how the Sub Ohm from Kanger is first as it's available in country.

 

Yah, i hear you and in a couple weeks or month the LEBILO is out and sure it might be better than the Lemo and Billow together. I actually use the RDA's only at the moment again and find my self not wanting to build that perfect set up for the orchid anymore so it won't leek.
