Kayfun has better flavour but the orchid is a far better vape IMO. I like it a lot.

I have modified my V2 and now I will be picking up my V4 later today. Wicking is the key to the Orchid. If done right you will never get a dry hit depending on the wattage you will run through it. When I first got mine I wicked it like most I've seen on youtube. It worked but was getting some dry hits, so I came across the guys build and since then have not had any leaks or dry hits. I now have dual 26g 8/9 wraps on a 3mm drill bit, dialed in at .7ohms. I have gone up to 50w on my Sigelei 100W with no dry hits but the vape is to hot for me. It has been very nice at around 25-30w.

I'm glad you like your Orchid Oil, should be a keeper.

Here is the link to the video on youtube:
Try it, it works for me and might help future Orchid owners out there.

BTW Rick and Oil, what version did you get? V1, V2....?

I have the V2. I like the slight 'bulbousness' of the original tank.
    **Updated**
This is my current build on one of them. It's around 0.47r on a mechanical.

I love my Orchids. I use Rayon and if anyone else uses that with the Orchid, recommend a build very similar to pic Rick posted.

What I do with mine using rayon (on an Orchid specifically) is I reduce the amount of it in the tails anywhere from 30% to 60% depending on the id size of my coil (I cut away less with smaller id coils). I cut away from ends of tail up toward the coil - about 4mm to 5mm from outer edge of coil. Main thing as shown by Rick is not having tails extending into the juice channels...or if you want to have some in there maybe only the smallest amount just to help anchor the tails in place, say 2 mm to 3 mm at most. But you don't want it packed into the channels...just the very smallest amount.

Also with Rayon, as I've recommended before, make sure it is very full and tight in the coil itself because it does not expand like cotton. Oh and it probably wouldn't be good to overlap any on top of the coil itself (as in the video posted here) as it could interfere with juice flow and you'll have plenty of vapor anyway. It would probably also restrict airflow some doing it that way.

Recommendations above based on my use of rayon for months now and for maybe a couple months using the Orchids. For cotton I would do things differently for sure.

    Cheers!

I am trimming the Rayon Scratchy style for about a month now and I have to say it works like a charm in my Russian/Kayfun, Orchid and RDAs.

    Let's trademark that stuff ^^

Really good to hear it is working well for you, Tibo! Wish I could take credit for the idea but I cannot...hopefully saving people from having to go through hundreds of pages of posts online. Been doing it for long enough now that I've gotten a good feel of what works better depending on device, coil, etc. :)

One thing I have posted before and just this morning found to be a bit inaccurate is distance I cut up to coill edge. Usually it is about 3 to 4mm. 5mm may be a bit far away for some builds. Blaming this on my not being raised a metric guy and having horrible skills estimating distance.

Well i bought it @ FT, but since they have a trillion different models now its most confusing ever LOL
    thats the model i bought,
$10.00 Orchid V2 Styled Rebuildable Tank Atomizer (2.5-3.0ml) - stainless steel + PMMA tank / 23mm diameter at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

and if you like tighter airflow you wont like it, but for me in the past was never to much a friend of the kayfuns, i like the Aqua a lot, but it was hard to wick, and had tiny juice chambers, the Orchic is a bit like the Aqua 2.0 for me, vapes great, produces a shitload of vapor (which is my personal main reason for being a vaper) Taste is also very well,
and i like the fact that i can see how much juice is left, i never liked pure steel tanks cause i never knew when its empty, and with cotton wicks i usually burned my cotton before i realized i had to refill

I got to say, the Orchid is a damn fine vape and it will replace my kayfuns. It's just so much better designed and gives such a better flavor to me.

I'm doing 5/6 wrap on 26ga at 2mm. Liking it so far. I don't know if 4.5 would be too large and touch the chimney area.

Ah, yes, there goes scratchy on about the rayon again. It's always with the rayon and this guy! Whaddya got a stake in some rayon factory or something?!

Meh, whatever. Was really gonna post about how the orchid is great but nothing compared to a Taifun GT. The most sincerest love for this atomizer has been found. The elation that comes of joining the Taifun to the lips is so inspirational that an entire set of replacement tanks was purchased to most appropriately accessorize this cherished device.

Woah,... every color in the 'bow, dude! No waaaay!

The greatest love of all is indeed easy to achieve... Taifun GS.

No, but seriously the orchid is great. The sparseness employed with the inception of version 1 showed extreme discipline and embraced the essence of simplicity in design. The whole subtle mind f$#k in deploying the product with no rigid preconceived dogmatic concepts like "fill holes" or "keeping juice inside the tank" were the brush strokes of a maestro. Genius!
