Innokin just revealed the Temp Control mod and tank on their facebook.

Interested to see the reviews on it. I like that they rounded out and slightly changed the design compared to their current modular battery mod. Curious too about kanthal temp control and its accuracy. I had read before it was expected to be a rather difficult thing to do.

Just finished reading though the article on reddit and well ... this mod will not work with pretty much all the other tanks out there because it uses Innokin's new ATC thread instead of the universal 510 thread.

Well that sucks.... Just caught an early reply in the thread and can understand now but unless that connector support is widely adopted by other manufacturers it's going to be awful limiting. Here's the reply in the thread:

"This uses an actual temperature sensor. It has to go in the atty, and a connector other than the standard 510 has to be used to get the signal from the sensor to the controller in the device. Since no standard for that exists (yet) in the vaping industry, Innokin had to develop their own. So it's innovation."

Hmmm nice is different. I don't like the mod sorry but that is definitively not my kind of device. And since i have not seen an external charger for the battery cells, they are using, it's just another of the devices which has to be charged by USB. It can temperature control with kanthal wire, and I'm sure others will solve the problem as well, so next generation of TC will also include kanthal wire. I am somewhat disappointed by this mod, sorry. I had hoped for something nicer.

I was writing my comments, when you posted this information. Thanks for the info. That is a final goodbye to this mod. When others can make temperature control work with the normal universal 510, I see no reason to buy neither the tank or mod from Innokin. I am fare to happy, that my tanks and mods are interchangeable, and i like tit to continue this way. But other companies also make good looking and well working mods.

 

If it works well and other companies adopt the connection it's no real issue for me, it's not as if I'm never gonna buy another tank again.

Innokin said (albeit on Reddit) that that is what they are working towards.

That being said the current incarnation looks shit.

Innokin have been awfully quiet about this in recent months, I wonder why?

 

Got pushed back to Jan next year for 'technical' reason.

They announced quite a few new products this past few weeks though.

Apart from the true TC box mod mentioned above, they also have another internal battery TC box mod coming out this month. Name Cortex or something like that. There's also an updated CoolFire IV with more mah and goes up to 70W. New 5ml Apex Tank with some new iSUb coils, Clapton and Ni I think. And Innokin also has one of those eGo ONE styled kit that just hit the stores.
