    ^^^ Good video, thanks Rick.
I happened to be on the Kidney Puncher site today and came across their page on battery tests. Here's the link to the 18650 Battery Tests.

Really useful post. I generally use Ebay UK. After seeing the exploding UltraFire, I can see why they are four for 273 baht, inc p&p from China. 900 baht for two Sony VTC24's from Aussie land seems a much safer bet.

Couldn't agree with you more...batteries are not the thing on which to try and save money IMO.

FWIW, this shop in California also ships to Thailand and has a good reputation for selling quality batteries:
Illumn.com - Flashlights, Batteries, Carry Gear, Intelligent LED Lighting, and More!

He also has genuine Sony VTC5's available (or at least he did the last time I checked).

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, but I find the new AWs to be inferior to the older models, and, besides which, there are better batteries around now. Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic.
Dunno about the latest 18350s and 18500s - a lot of people are praising AWT, but I haven't tried them yet.

I'm still on Sony VTC5s and Samsung 25Rs for the 18650s.
Cheapest, reliable vendor who posts batteries to me in Ireland is NKON | nkon.nl

    Then there's Torchy battery prices

Pretty sure they are expensive rewraps...

    Haven't tried them yet.
I don't know if Torchy has tested them or not - must check.

Both Imren, and ShockLi do 18350s and 18500s, but I believe most people on the forum mainly use 18650s.
I've just bought a pair of each in 18500, but not used them yet.

Fasttech say they're authentic, for what that's worth.

They are good batteries, but from the test I saw several months ago, they are just expensive re-wraps with false specs printed on the sleeve.

Can't remember if they were 25R or HE2

Any chance of a link to that article?
I know a few people who would be very interested to read it.

It wasn't an article but a video on YT comparing the graph alongside the 25R or HE4, they were almost identical.

I'll see if I can find it.

This is a 2500mAh cell will very high current rating. The 35A is a bit optimistic.

These curves shows a very good battery, there is a good tracking between the batteries and not much capacity drop from 0.2A to 20A, but the voltage drops significantly at 30A.

    Conclusion

Usual a battery with unspecified cell will not get better rating than acceptable, but there is no doubt it is a very good cell that is used here.

    Notes and links

The batteries was supplied by AWT for a review.

As mentioned, they are decent batteries but almost double the cost in many cases in comparison to the 25R / HE2/4 that they actually are.
A little hunting on Google will probably reveal conclusive evidence.

The video I referred to earlier was actually an MXJO which graphed almost identically to an HE2

How so? The newer models have an increased capacity and higher continuous amp ratings than the old ones. He's also introduced a 3,000 mAh flat top battery.

Here's a quote from an ECF thread on the new AW batts.
