Well, I didn't resist temptation for long. Just ordered the stingray and a Kayfun Lite Plus from Big.

I have seen a Danish reviewer, who has a whole collection of stingray clones, and he also complain about the switches, saying that if you hit the switch directly in the middle, they are okay, but a slight pressure to the side and it blocks.

The the Danish reviewer did exactly that, because when he got this Stingray X mod the switch was not working and while he waited for a new switch from the dealer, he used a switch from a Nemesis. But the replacement switch he got just works a lot better according to the reviewer, than the old switch. Not as good as the Nemesis but a lot better than the old Stingray switches.

 

Mine arrived from Big yesterday along with KF 3.1. The stingray is a real stunner, a work of art and the switch is silky smooth, looks great with the 3.1 on top.
I was very impressed with the totally invisible seamless tube joints and overall detail.

 

This is a thing of beauty. Mega performance. Modded the switch with a cut down spring and it stands solid and straight now with a short throw. Love it.

Can I use the iClear30S Dual Coil Clearomizer with this ?

If not then what would you recommend that's similar ?

Yes it will work just fine with the iclears -HOWEVER mech mods are more in tune with dripping - why? Because we can control our vape experience by building different resistance coils. Of course you can do that with an RBA and even rebuild screw in tank heads but it is a pain.

If you are using tanks like the iclear 30 then a regulated VV/VW mod is much your better option providing you with control over your vape experience. This is just my opinion and others may feel differently. The kick will regulate a mech mod as well but then that is just another layer when you could have the much easier option of a regulated mod.

Having said this, again IMO with the exception of the Vapor Shark - mech mods are a lot sexier than their regulated counterparts
