Thanks for this tip mate. :very good:

Anyone else got any essential do's and don't's for a newb to mechanical mods? I don't plan on going below 0.8 ohms until I understand a whole lot more and this kick thing still has me confused. lol

Batteries I have at the moment are all Efest.

And, with the 18350 + kick, you are only grabbing maybe three threads with the bottom cap / switch - but it works.

Colin88, are you using it kicked?

Great pics Pipcon and you have a beautiful collection of gear and with a lot of TLC too!

I got this mod to break into sub-ohm dripping but you have me intrigued about using it with the IClear 30s. Can you explain more?

Well the IClear 30S is one of those non-rebuildable attys with a pre-configured replacement coil. Albeit a cleanable & dry burnable coil, from what I understand.

Many people rave about them as one of the best Non RBA's.

Personally, I have not been able to get a decent hit out of it on my regulated mods. On this device it really works great.
I know that many of the others also use it on mechanical mods.

I think it just suits the sort of power delivery that comes from a mech mod.

As a matter of fact, I just put it on the Stingray again and tried it - and - yes - great hit!
(and what is really baffling is that I have the kick installed with the wattage dialed down....)

I also just put it back on the SVD - no good - no matter what wattage I use it just doesn't do it for me.

But this is just my experience with this device and the gear I have. I am no expert on such matters.

Thanks for that Pipcon. The 30s atty is the first one I bought with the vv v3 & of course I was very impressed with this combo over the cheap ego I started with. Can't wait to give it a go with the Stingray from what you wrote. Don't have a kick yet though so do you think I'll still experience improvement over the SVD?

For me, it did. Vast improvement. With or without the kick.

My point about having the kick installed was that, having it installed, more or less, makes the Stingray a regulated mod......go figure......

That's that 33hz signal from the SVD, the evolv kick doesn't suffer from that.

Curious, has anyone checked if it is thread compatible with the nemesis? I bet a beauty ring would fix all your kick problems.

Was wondering that also + 1

But I don't own a Nemesis. It really would be nice to have the additional ring though. Never seen the Nemesis one.

Just got mine. Its very nice. Not got round to stripping and cleaning yet but:

    1) In 18650 with a full Taifun GT (big tank) it does not fire when stood upright unlocked

    2) Threads not compatible with Nemesis. Funny that I just saw you asked that Ryan as it was the first thing I tried.

3 Switch only fires when pressed on center, not near the edges. Will see how this is after I have taken it apart.

    4) It is very very pretty

    Update: took it apart etc

Switch will only ever fire on center due to design.

Throw is on the stiff side which is good for me.

Driptip is very loose. Tried it in a few different atties and it wobbles quite a bit in all of them, except the Trident (which has a very tight hole)

Threads are good. Bit sharp but very smooth

Tubes fit together very flushly. Seam only a tiny bit visible.

Storm A looks even better on it than on the ss nemi :)

Re: Stingray Clone 1:1 by Hcigar & Wonderful

Thanks for your observations Panga, I got mine late yesterday afternoon.

I'm having the same issues with the switch, it's very finicky. To me it's seems not so much pressing it dead center, it's more like it has to be pressed dead level. A slight angle off and it doesn't fire, I suck away sometimes and find myself wasting my air. lol
I'm too used to the easy side switches on my regular mods I guess, gonna take some more practice with a bottom switch.

Works great with my Kayfuns but for some reason it doesn't like my Iclear 30s. It fired initially but then nothing. Tried different fixes but I just gave up in frustration. The 30s works perfectly on my SVD, 134 mini and vv v3. Go figure.

My drip tip fits okay, a tad loose but not that wobbly.

Yes, it is very pretty but I hope you have some Brasso handy. Mine got very dull and grubby from last night's use so I bought a 100 ml can from Tops Supermarket today for 87 baht.
It came up all nice and shiny again. :very good:

    Good write up Patts.

Took me a while to get used to the bottom switch on my Nemi which I guess is more or less the same.

After a week or 2 of use its much better. It will now fire pressing off center where as it the beginning that was a instant lock up. Also I think once you get used to it you automatically center your finger better.

Odd your Iclear wont fire. Not making contact with the center pin I'm guessing. Some of those centre pins in the iclear's move. At least the Iclear X1 does that I have on hand at the moment. Maybe prizing it out a tad will help.

I'm not familiar with the Stingray but I read it has a floating pin? Maybe some tinkering can be done to give that some more travel?

    Enjoy
