1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

Interesting biased comment "Importing and distributing e-cigarettes remains illegal in Thailand, though several countries such as Japan, South Korea, the UK, and some states in the US do not ban vaping."

    Here's a map - grey areas don't ban vaping.
Sorry, it's not 'several'. It's just a few backward countries following the FDA's backward thinking '100% safety or nothing' excuse to ban vaping whilst still allowing tobacco products for the huge incomes'.

I think you're being a little harsh on the FDA (who have not banned vaping). Singapore banned vaping due to the 2008 (or so) announcement from the WHO that basically stated they didn't know if vaping would cause any harm so it shouldn't be allowed (IIRC).

It's certainly not a coincidence that SG has the highest tax rates on tobacco products in Asia (& no duty-free allowance, either). ;)

Did the WHO ever do research to find out if crossing the road would cause any harm?
Studies I discovered this week show that over 95% of smokers who start vaping don't actually stop smoking... But I know from my own experience that day 2 was soooo much easier to get through than day 1. I'm interested to know what kind of people were selected for these tests.

Not back then, they didn't...now, it's pretty difficult to ignore the current research. Vaping may not be entirely safe (hell, breathing the air over here isn't entirely safe) but it's certainly less harmful than smoking. :)

WHO does not beleive and therfore doesn't accept such a thing like "THR" (Tobacco Harm Reduction), that is their clear conveyed message worldwide from the last Conference they held in Geneva two months ago. For them there is nothing but "Quit or Die"!

    Trip report.

    Back yesterday from Thailand.

Flew LGW DXB BKK No problems.
Stealth vaped on night out in Nana area with no problems.

Flew BKK TO Chiang Rai no problems.
Vaped around Chiang Rai with no problems.

    Bus to Chiang Mai.
Vaped around Chiang Mai (carefully) with no problems.

6 day bike trip around the mountains in the Chiang Mai area. Vaped as if I was at home. Lots of road blocks. Waved through all except one close to Chiang Mai on our return. All they wanted to see was our International driving licences. Mine had expired but he didn't check it. He knew what they looked like so as soon as he saw it he said very good and waved us on.

Flew Chiang Mai to BKK NO problems.

Flew BKK DXB LGW no problems.

Had 1 night out where we got involved in a drinking session with a Thai army Major and his underlings. Got monumentally hammered, as did they and they refused to let us pay for even our own drinks. Brilliant!

Anyone doing research into possible harm from getting hammered?
No need for research into using Bus, vans, or any other form of transport in Thailand. Surely all forms of transport will soon be banned...
