1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.
Are you looking to get started or an old hand at vaping? Everyone is welcome here so sign up today and talk vaping with us!

What I find astounding is the intensity with which the authorities are pursuing vapers. There are so many important issues in this country it is hard to for me to understand how this one issue has taken on such importance to the police and government. Perhaps in part they see this as another way to collect funds from the public? They are never known to miss such opportunities.

I dont think so. It may be a nice side benefit for them, and the main reason must be another one.

This indeed is the one and only issue persued with such astounding intensity - almost globally! And probably the only one where claims about negative health effects are being made for no logical reason. Where speculative statements by authorities and interest groups lead to travel restrictions, negative press, fines, import restrictions, and bans, right up to criminalising the population, as it happens in Singapore.

To be honest I believe that Thailand follows Singapore often, not directly but with delay and may be a bit of modifaction, but in the general line. The difference is Thailand is a real country that can not be so seemlessly controled, even with outmost efford.

They seem to be treating vaping related crimes with the same intensity as drug crimes. I personally think it is absurd to put them in the same category.

At the same time liberation of other substances is under discussion in several major countries.

Who has an interest in people rather being stoned than healthier bcs they stopped smoking?

I certainly hope this crackdown will go under soon or I will be on my merry way to another country that does not treat me like a criminal because I made healthier life choices.....

Maybe time to break out my old cig-a-likes again. Blends in nicely when in the smokers pit.....except for that damn blue light on the end!

Clarification on the YouLike FB post from my g/f...

    This picture is about vaping.
The caption reads, "Possession (of an ecig [unstated but implied]) = 5 years imprisonment and a fine".

    upload_2016-6-14_19-54-1.png

This picture is about 5 youths who murdered someone in a wheelchair in Bangkok.
It has nothing to do with vaping!

Sorry, that is incorrect. it has EVERYTHING to do with vaping.

USE AN ECIG = MURDER THE HANDICAPPED

now if they can just get that woven in between the frames of children's cartoons, in about 10 years or so vaping will be about as socially acceptable as punching someone's grandmother in the face.

Personally I don't think the receipts will make any difference. The police will still have a chance to harass you to the max.
