1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

Don't take this the wrong way mate but it really gets to me when vapers use the word 'smoke' e cigarette...
As we aren't smoking anything, we're vaping, inhaling vapour , not smoke....

Non taken. I think it's normal when a person smoked marlboro's for over 20 years. that he still smokes an E-cigarette.
I'm not following vaper sites or related bloggs as a non-stop thing.
For me it's only a mechanical device that stopped me with smoking. I'm not a cult fan.
    But i understand your point.
    Cheers,
    steff.

In the matter he's right however. Separate everything and distribute it around your suitcase. What they don't see / identify does not bother them. Also follow the battery advice.

Can you imagine being locked up with real criminals in Thailand then they ask what you are in for? Good grief this place is so stupid it hurts.

Just thought i would add an update for you all. I emailed the head customs office in Bangkok, and this was their response.

    Dear Sir,
According to your question, we would like to inform that an e-cigarette and related items are a prohibited item in Thailand.
So, you cannot import/export these items whether personal use or commerce.
    Best Regards,

So no change from the last few years then. Just getting stricter with enforcement and applying that to items already in the kingdom and in use it appears.

Personally not sure I want to make official enquirers anyway. I can't see the point in drawing attention to myself over this. But that's just me maybe.

I was kinda hoping to get a slightly more positive email from them, hoping that the news from that police generals video had filtered down, and perhaps they might have said yes it's ok for personal use.

As for drawing attention to myself, well it does help if you don't use your real email when asking such questions. Lol

There must be thousands of vapers coming through everyday, and i surely would have thought some of the red tops would have reported that Wayne and Waynetta were stopped and analy probed for 15 hours. But i haven't heard a single story in the UK of any tourist being stopped.

At least having it in writing now, rather than hearing stories of my mate got busted has sealed my decision to leave my gear at home and hopefully i wont go back on the stinkies while im away

Sorry, I hadn't realised that you were not a resident Thai expat.
My advice would be continue with vaping, discreetly, pack your gear as described in several threads, and you should be fine.
I am currently back in UK, but had no issues either coming, or going in and out of Thailand with Vape gear.
    Dubai,I was not so lucky.

In all honesty @Daleyboy the posts on here regarding the laws, not anecdotal stories, are from people that, in general live here and in most cases have for some time.

The reason for confusion is the different "interpretations" applied to those laws by the authorities.

Right now there are some new regs and a my rigorous clamp down on imports and there is some evidence, from anecdotal stories, that that is extending in to use of vape gear as well. Not just bringing it in. So there is a need for the stories as well as the more factual regulations as well.

Whatever you decide to do have a good trip and if you bring your gear be stealthy and. Watch where you vape.

I would bring it and just be careful, the worst case scenario is possible confiscation and a small 'gift' towards the Officers retirement fund( I know they say there are Draconian regulations but it's very unlikely that they would hit a genuine tourist with anything too severe)

The Customs folks are concerned with the import/export of goods, not their use once in the country so any answer other than the one you received was always unlikely.
Hmmm, a little smuggling is good for the soul. ;)
But seriously, if you don't want to chance it, bring your juice and buy some kit when you arrive.
