1. Welcome to Thailand Vapers, an English language forum for members in Thailand and the rest of Asia to talk about vaping.
Commonly referred to as e-cigarettes, vaping is really about the use of personal vaporizers (mods) and atomizers (tanks, clearos, RBAs, RDAs, RTAs) filled with e-liquid.

AFTER 4 days of vaping i have come to the conclusion i''m in it for the long haul !! Thing is i know the Joytech EGO AIO was a good starting point.

I now want to get into the mod and rebuild part of it all to really feel like i'm in control of my Vaping experience.
Searching the net finding so many mods and coils RBA/RDA ,Batteries ,wire ,cotton , Youtube vape reviewers it is a real Pandora's box that leads you round in circles and make s you wonder is there such a thing as the perfect set up . My reason for this post is to cut through all that head ache and Failing and ask Long time vapers what would be your go to Build that you own, that you would want with you on a ship wrecked island !!! Your recommendation Mod , Tank , Coils , Batteries , Wire and Cotton . Enjoy !! At the end of this post i will hopefully end up with a set i can enjoy

Asking this question is like asking a man what kind of woman he likes. You are going to get a lot of different answers, you may be different than the majority and like something completely different. For me, if I could only have one of each of the items you listed, my choices would be a hybrid top cap single 18650 mech mod, a Velocity RDA, 24 ga. Kanthal for building my coils, Samsung 25R batteries and Muji cotton. If I could have one more mod and atty it would be the Tesla Invader III and the iJoy Limitless RDTA. I hope the island has power so that I can recharge my batteries with a Xtar VC4.

Lets continue with the first different answer as anounced by Lotta :)

    Wire:
I use 80 - 90 % of the time stainless steel wire now, grade SS316L. Sometimes it's Titanium Grade 1.
Cotton: I have Muji and Koh Den, there is no much diff and I doubt other organic cotton will be relevantly different. If anything, the Koh Den needs 2 or 3 draws to loose a a somewhat "new taste". In Thailand you can get Watson organic cotton cheap I read here. Just make sure you hide it from your girl-friend.
Batteries: I like the LG HG2 best from my batteries (the others being Sony VTC5 and Samsung 25r). Most important is making sure you are getting originals.
Tank: If you like the vape the Aio does you could buy a Cubis Pro tank and the RBA deck. It is not the best tank but a decent tank at low cost, and you can interchange coils with your Aio (as long as they are Kanthal or SS).
Mod: I think most in the class 75 - 80 W will do, most are pretty similar. I decided for the Joyetech VTC Mini in last September and I still like it. At the moment I am eyeballing this one:

If looking at a single high-end device I'd probably buy a Dicodes No. 6.

    Mod - evic mini
    Tank - griffin
    Cotton - organic watsons
    Battery - Sony VTC5
    Charger - nitecore D4
Wire - jeez, guitar strings or cat gut, what else ?

Only kidding - kanthal, Clapton or SS, although I been building mostly kanthal recently.

Cheers Lotta , Peter-K and Scuba Vaper
Nice to see i can find cotton at Watson (will deffo hide from wife and daughter)
Lotta the Island has plenty of Power and Juice and loads of Vape stuff .We where on a container ship that was carrying new supplies to Thailand when we ran aground .We use the generators off the ship for power. We have plenty of none perishable food and a fully stocked bar and plenty more in the hold. If you want anything else crack open 1 of the containers you will find what ever you need .
Now i can get back to putting them Guitar strings back on my sons Guitar now i see Scuba was only joking but think its a bit late for the Neighbors cat ;) .
look forward to seeing what other peoples builds would be .

I'm a Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) vaper so my needs are simple. If I'm stuck on an island, the only mod I'd want with me is a ProVari...they just work...and for a very long time! And, the only thing I want to have to do with my tanks is replace the coils occasionally...more time to spend at the bar drinking frou-frou drinks...you know, the ones with little umbrellas. :D

Mod - ProVari P3 (see Classifieds [nudge, nudge]), Radius or Procyon (backup: Dicodes 2380 or No. 6)
Tank - Aspire Nautilus w/an unlimited supply of BVC replacement coils
Cotton - who needs it? (and, it's all the same anyway) ;)
Battery - Sony VTC5 (backup: LG HG2 or Samsung 25r)
    Charger - XTAR VP 2
    Wire - don't need this either! :p

Good luck...most of us are still hunting for the 'perfect' setup (right along with the 'perfect' woman).

Mod: istick pico without a doubt, small, discreet (important in the current climate) and more than enough power.

Batteries: lg hg2 or samsung 30q is enough for most vapers needs (except for them clowdbros)

Wire: ss316l, I prefer 26awg, easier to work worh than kanthal and tastes better imo.

    Cotton: Muji

Tank: for a beginner I always recommend a toptank mini, vast array of premade coils and one of the easiest build decks to work with, good flavor and easy top fill.

    Good luck

You're most welcome ... the above is what I'm currently vaping ... also liked Aromamizer and Uwell Crown ... for RDAs hard to beat the Velocity, but most only have cloned ones as the original is over $150 I think ...

Good to see you're sense of humour is in full swing, life does need a good sense of humour !

Hi Rob. Great post. A couple of months ago, I'd have gone with VTC Mini and Nautilus/Kabuki tank. Now things are rather trickier than on your island, I'd splash out on a Provari mod, a few RTA's that are OK for MTL, and a few hundred meters of wire. A personal view from someone who's not into clouds.

Your RX200 should be able to read the resistance of the coil...don't have one so I can't say for sure, but I'd be very surprised if it can't do this.

    Where there's a will...

And you're gonna want to play around with this calculator to get a good idea of the size of the coil you want to build.

It's a RX200 so ménage à trois would be a more appropriate term I guess
