I need to buy a charger and I have been looking at all of the functions on the Opus like refresh and discharge and was wondering if these functions are used or are they gimmicks?

Should i pay the extra for the Opus or buy the latest Nitecore?

I have a Nitecore, an Opus and a Xtar VP2.

They say the Xtar VP2 is the best and I would put this one also on the first place. After that the Opus (I don't use all the functions personally) and the last the Nitecore.

It looks like Xtar is the way to go.

XTAR chargers are very good...I have a VP2 and travel with an SP1. They just work.

I have the VC4. Excellent charger. You can charge 1 or 2 batteries at 1 amp if you choose or charge 1 to 4 batteries at 0.5 amp. Nice display and tells you the mah that was put back into the battery. Has the capability to revive batteries that have be over discharged. I agree with @Konvict 1. Xtar 2. Opus 3. Nitecore

I have the Opus and I do use all the functions. I would put this above the Xtar easily if you do use the functions. It is absolutely solid, 1A charging on all 4 slots simultaneously (which automatically puts it above the Xtar for me), and up to 2A charging on a single port. If you actually use the functions and regularly charge more than 2 batteries, this is the way to go. If not, then Xtar is probably the better and cheaper choice.

You can get the Xtar VC4 from Lazada but they only carry the cheap Opus charger not the good ones.

Does Lazada sell clones? I see some have different names such as, I-Unique Xtar..., Startup Xtar..., Eaze Xtar...

I think Lazada is including the name of the seller in the title. If you look at the seller of the charger under that listing it matches the name in front of Xtar. I can confirm the one I received from them is authentic.

    **Updated**
On a slightly different note, are the Xtar batteries any good?
