This started out as a search for a Grants clone but I didnt get on with most of the online sources and ended up with this.

    VG 65%
    PG 18.5%
    Capela Vanilla Custard V2 13%
    Flavor West French Vanilla 3%
    TPA Ethalmathol 0.5%

    20%PG 80% VG
    VG 80.5%
    Capela Vanilla Custard V2 15%
    Flavor West French Vanilla 4%
    TPA Ethalmathol 0.5%

I'm almost certain Grant's uses Capella's custard v1. If this is your own variation, please disregard.

Capella V1 is not diacetyl free. V2 is. That could be the reason he chose V2. It's the reason I use Capella V2 flavorings.

Yep, thats why I tried the V2, and I still have never got hold of any original Grants to compare, but In the end it came down to something I was happy with.

In my experience V2 actually has a better flavor and the steeping time, while still long, is shorter than with the V1.

Since all the secrets are coming out to help the DIY folks now. My personal opinion is that you can't make a good custard without Capella. YMMV.

True, but it is tasty. :) I still haven't tried v2 yet. Will get around to it one of these days.
