Mesh, wick and wire for re-builds from a Thai vendor

bought another round of juices and 2 x 18350 IMR and 1 x CGR panasonic 18650 from another source

 

I am looking to buy a little more than a metre because 100 bht per metre seems expenisve.

I am going to try this place tomorrow:-

At the risk of being seen as a cheap charlie, I was thinking whether I might actually use the "cotton" string that you get wrapped around parcels from the Thai Post office as a wick.

Has anyone tried this as an ultra cheap alternative ?

Been in touch with Somboon Supplies and they sell the wire but it's not Kanthal. The size is 0.25 and I think he said 34g which he sells for 10bht per metre. When I asked him if I can use it for electronic cigarettes he said it can be used. He also sells Nichrome but only by the kg which is 3000 bht.

It might be worth buying a few metres of this wire to see how it works out but I am worried that at 0.25 it might just be quick thick
