I have a couple of Kayfuns and the idea was to have one for the room and take out the other in nano form. Been holding off as I'm not sure they make a good travel companion with the possibility of leaks. Would be annoying to get out and find you have an empty kayfun and a pocket full of juice.

The other thing is I like to lay my mod down when I'm out because always take the nemisis and no chance of a fire that way. I've kind of been practising and laying my kayfuns down in the room and so far so good. Their user manual says laying them flat is not advised so guess the odd leak is on the cards.

To be honest tho, An Iclear or similar tank is a good travel tank. 3mls of juice and totally reliable. Maybe best stick with that.

Ive been taking one of my Kayfuns out and about on a nemisis, normaly travels in my shorts pocket,18350 version with kick, no problems at all. If I take a clearomisor out I tend to bend them in my pocket and I have to straighten them on the next clean.

Sometimes I like a pen type version for a shirt pocket, with my itaste vv, another reason why I rebuilt an EVOD coil and with the FT T4 I get 2.5ml of liquid with me.

I take my Kayfun Lite, full size or nano mounted on the SVD or 134 Mini and never have any leakage problems. Also in my room I always lay them flat mounted or unmounted and again, I never have any leaks.

i would say that if it does not leak at home it probably wont leak when you take it out.

here is an excerpt from the kayfun manual

"Minor leaks may also happen if the tank is filled completely, or it is filled more than halfway while Kayfun Lite is lying horizontally or with mouthpiece tilted down for some time.
In this case, one of the grooves (1h) could be at the top "in the air" and another one at the bottom dipped into e-liquid.In this case the air will escape from evaporation chamber through the top groove and e- liquid will flow from the tank to the evaporation chamber through the bottom groove. Naturally this process stops as soon as both grooves are covered with e-liquid. Make sure that both grooves are always covered with e-liquid, keep Kayfun Lite horizontally in such a way that the mouthpiece is always slightly higher than the evaporation chamber. Even better, keep it in the vertical (or near vertical) position if your battery mod allows it.
Leaks may also happen when ambient temperature and/or pressure changes abruptly, for example when you walk into a heated room from the cold or in an airplane during takeoff/landing. It may even happen during rapid ascent/descent in express elevator. Solid (metal) parts of the device are expanding/shrinking with temperature/pressure change, changing the volume of the tank and causing e-liquid to flow into the evaporation chamber. Pressure drop causes the process similar to what happens when you draw, just without heating the coil. To avoid leakage in such cases we recommend you to keep/transfer Kayfun Lite upside down i.e. mouthpiece down. In this case, grooves (1h) will be at the top in the «air bubble» and when the temperature or pressure changes, air will flow between evaporation chamber and tank instead of e- liquid.

If you wick it properly, your Kayfuns won't leak while going out and about. I find they tend to leak more while sitting idle, and really its more of a seeping than leaking. The nice thing about the 3.1s is the catch plate prevents the majority of it, so if you're worried about leaking you might want to stick with the 3.1.

I would add that I do use the Kayfun for out and about (in the pocket of a suit) and have never had a leak. I have 6 kayfuns now. No leak on the go. No leak at home.

So far, no leak problem with my Fayfun Lite... But some days ago, put it in my pant pocket mounted on Nemesis, without securing the firing safety... Guys, after 1 min sited, had to "jump" thinking a kind of scorpion had bitten my leg! But was just the kayfun becoming so hot that it burnt my skin... Hopefully, my pant didn't start to fire !!!

I did sort of the same thing too. Set down nemesis, forgot nemesis lock ring, got really hot. Thought battery would explode. Had it in my pants pocket when that happened too. Now I use extremely strong magnets.

Done the same also when I was driving. Busy intersection and fire in the pants is not nice. I used to be a bit relaxed about setting the lock ring but after that I am much more careful. Happened once more where I was too drunk to notice or care. I had a nice burn/blister near my gentleman's area. :vaping:

These mech. mods can be dangerous little suckers if you're not careful.
