Bought my evic mini some time ago from Tienga on here.
Been most happy with it, except it went in the sea with me during a capsize.
Managed to dry it out and it started working again. But recently the screen has been getting dimmer in places, with some blank lines, and the power button seems to press itself or not work at all.
So, time to get a backup.

New Cuboid arrived this morning from Tienga's shop.
Oh, my disappointment to see the screen all scratched on my lovely new 200w black baby. Looked like it had been used for a month.
So, after making sure it was not just some residue on the screen, I took a photo of it and sent a message to Tienga saying how unhappy I was.
After an hour or so on the internet looking for scratch removal tip, I happened upon some discussion about someone receiving a scratched Cuboid, only to find out that it was the screen protector.
You see, Joyetech put a very precisely cut and very well stuck screen protector on their mods.
So good that it's impossible to see and almost impossible to get off.:completely forgotten:

Eventually I managed to remove it with a toothpick and admired it's scratch-free beauty.
Apology has been sent to Tienga.:thank you:.

    Funny stuff.

If you get salt water in electronics. Give it a good wash in fresh water. Hot or warm is better. Water is the only rhing to dissolve salt as far as I know. Ultra sonic cleaner is good if you have one. Then dry out. If you have a vacuum chamber can be done quickly and throughly. Air conditioned room and compressed air is ok some times.
Doesn't always work. If the electronics are powered up when the water gets in you have less chance. Good luck

I had the exact same problem when I was in the US except I was on the other end. Bought a few Cuboids from a small distributor and was reselling them on E-Bay. Had one customer extremely upset that I had sold him a used mod. He filed a complaint with E-Bay and PayPal before even talking to me. Once I told him about the screen protector and he researched it on the internet he apologized. Joyetech should really do something about the quality of their screen protectors. They are absolutely horrible.

On a sad note, the evic mini finally gave in to salt water poisoning today after a long struggle.
So if anyone knows where I can get a new one. Please let me know.
    Thanks.

Thanks for the link (I'll add that to my list or local sites). That's a decent price for the kit. Unfortunately I just need the mod, or an equivalent single battery mod for when I'm out and about.
If someone want a cubis tank and battery, let me know and we'll split the kit :very good:.

Wow, who puts a scratched up screen protector on screens, sounds very dumb.

Touch wood, not had any problems with drowned electronic devices for a good long time, but my experience with devices of yore was to remove bettery immediately and let fully dry out before putting battery back in - used to work the few times my old Nokia phones got dropped down the toilet, until I realised shirt pocket not best place for carrying phone. My iPhone's I've managed not to drown, so far ...

Ultrasonics are useful in some scenarios, however I have found painted surfaces, the ultrasonic cleaner strips paint, which wasn't a desired effect. So, ultrasonics may need caution and research before dropping in a drowned mod.

Anyway, sorry to hear evil mini died, it's my favourite mod so far. Hopefully you'll be able to get a replacement soon.
